During the 50s The Hollies was host to Don Bradman and his Australian Cricket Touring Team, who played villagers on the lawn. The Hollies is situated in the village of Horton which is on the tip of the Gower Peninsular which is 20 miles long by 5 miles wide.
The Gower holds wooded glens with brooks and streams, woods and copses of Oak Sycamore and Ash trees. There are old Churches, fortified towers and castles which are mementos of the conquest by the Normansover 900 years ago. Smuglers Caves and tales of pirates all form part of the magic of the Gower.
