There are exceptional hills and valleys in this part of West Dorset so the walks are very satisfying. For example a round trip to West Milton and back or to Mapperton (with its Sawmill Cafe for lunch) and back.
Bridport has street markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The town has an Arts Centre and The Electric Palace cinema. There is also a Leisure Centre.
The Kingcombe Centre, 4 km away, runs Nature courses and conducts walks. Powerstock Common is a site of Nature Conservation Interest.
Maiden Castle and Eggardon Hill are iron age hill camps.
Gastronomically speaking the area is full of good Restaurants, Pubs and cafes, for example Summer Lodge and the Acorn Inn in Evershot, the Riverside at West Bay, the Hive Beach Cafe at Burton Bradstock and The Half Moon at Melplash.
