Key Info
  • Great for children of all ages
  • Car advised
  • Pets welcome
  • Private garden

Situated in its own grounds, the cottage is approached off the A48, through a secure, electronically controlled gate. This pretty, secluded, and private converted barn is the ideal location for rest and relaxation, whilst benefitting from being just 2 miles from the gateway to the Forest.

Downstairs the Barn is open plan. The kitchen/dining area contains an upright "half and half" fridge freezer, Neff halogen hob, single oven and a washing machine, dining table and four chairs. We have recently fitted a new oil boiler, which supplies hot water, day and night and central heating, which you can control with a timer and thermostatic valves on each radiator in each room, offering you ultimate comfort.

Well behaved pets are welcome at £10 per pet per stay. Please select the amount of pets you have when requesting a quote or advise when emailing us. Pets are not permitted upstairs in the property.

The lounge boasts a corner sofa, large enough for 3/4 people and two bucket chairs, enabling you to enjoy the view through the French doors to the garden and to watch the wildlife. There is a wall mounted electric fire and wall mounted 32" TV. The Barn has a full Sky package for those days when you feel like staying in - including Sky Movies and Sky Sports! There is free Wifi throughout the Barn. We provide a DVD player and several DVD's at the property for your further enjoyment, along with books and games. We operate a "swap" system for books - if you have finished with yours, simply replace it with a book at the Barn and leave your unwanted one, so there is no need to leave that unfinished book behind!

The bathroom comprises a sink, toilet and bath with shower over, with a glass shower screen.

Upstairs the double bedroom contains a small wardrobe, chest of three drawers, bedside drawers and a Freeview TV. The twin room also has a small wardrobe, chest of three drawers, bedside drawers and Freeview TV.

The large, wild gardens at the front and the rear make the Barn a great location for amateur bird and wildlife spotters, attracting visits from otters, heron, kingfishers and buzzards. There is a patio in front of the French doors containing a table and four chairs, along with cushions and an umbrella for when it is warm and dry. At the rear of the property there is a small raised patio area with a bistro table and two chairs.

(Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage, and guests are requested to provide their own ash/litter containers for smoking outside).

Located on the A48 between Chepstow and Lydney, the Barn is an ideal base for exploring the historical cities of Bath, Bristol, Gloucester, Cheltenham and Brunel's SS Great Britain in Bristol. We are well placed for visiting the local attractions in the Royal Forest of Dean such as Symonds Yat Rock, famous for its nesting Peregrine falcons, Clearwell Caves, Perrygrove Railway and Puzzlewood - where many popular series and films have been filmed (Merlin, The Hobbit and, more recently, the latest Star Wars film).
