Imagine a haven away from it all,
Where you can relax and your stress levels fall.
5 bedrooms allow you to spread out in style,
With views of the country for mile after mile.
Le Manoir is offering all this and more,
With 98 acres for you to explore.
There is so much to see, and so much to do:
Do it all, or do nothing – it's just up to you!
Let Le Manoir de Gurson weave its magic spell over you! Here is where you can get away from it all, and simply relax, or use it as a base for discovering the area. Everyone is surprised at how quickly they unwind from the moment they come down the 500-metre drive and step into the entrance hall. The secret could be that Le Manoir is in the middle of 98 acres of beautiful scenery, with lakes, fields and woods - and even a hidden valley. A real piece of paradise.
We also run fully-catered residential courses for 1 or more people. In 2014, we have 2 art holidays led by Murray Ince (one week already full-booked), a writing retreat led by Ros Barber, a yoga holiday with Lucy Pireel, and a Nordic Walking holiday with Nikkii Barnett. Prices start at only £500 per person, which includes accommodation, all meals and tuition, with no single supplement. Please contact us for more information, or see our website (Le Manoir de Gurson).
Self catering wine weekends for up to 10 people also available. Please contact us for more details.

The South West of France is one of the most beautiful regions, and enjoys milder weather due to the Gulf Stream. The summers are long, and the winter is usually very mild indeed, but we can't guarantee it!
Le Manoir is in the heart of the wine growing region, with vineyards next to many of the roads in the area.
A local cycle hire company will deliver bikes to the door.
There are several excellent golf courses within easy driving distance. New for 2013: ask us for your free Dordogne Golf Pass, allowing you to play at 7 courses, including Chateau de Vigiers, at reduced cost.
From Le Manoir, one can see the ruins of the Chateau de Gurson, steeped in history, with donkeys keeping watch.
No visit would be complete without a trip to St Emilion, Bordeaux or Bergerac.
Domaine de Coquelicot, an organic wine producer gives free wine tasting, as does Chateau de Gurson, both within walking distance . Chateau la Plante also gives a free tour and wine tasting, 10 minutes away by car. An experience not to be missed.
Lac du Gurson (3 minutes) - a very large open-air swimming lake, sandy beach, fountain, restaurants and cafés.
Tennis at Lac de Gurson or St Martin de Gurson.
Villefranche de Lonchat (5 minutes), our nearest town, once a fortified English stronghold or Bastide. There is a handful of small shops, cash machine, and a weekly market in the town square. The baker will deliver fresh bread each morning, if requested: a lovely way to start the day! The Fête Cantonale, a great day out for all ages, will be held on Sunday 28th July 2013; a treat not to be missed.

Bergerac - a lovely old town, always well worth a visit. Find the statue of Cyrano de Bergerac!
