Minehead is known as the Gateway to Exmoor and with its mile long esplanade and beautiful sandy beach, it nestles under North Hill surrounded by beautiful scenery where wild deer and herds of ponies can be found. For Steam Railway enthusiasts The West Somerset Steam Railway runs a full programme of events throughout the year. The Medieval village of Dunster with its National Trust Norman Castle and picturesque Yarn Market is worth visiting all year round and during the run up to Christmas "Dunster by Candlelight" is an event not to be missed.
Available activities include Tennis, Golf, Bowling, Horse Riding, Cycle Hire and Fishing.
The Exmoor National Park has been designated Europes first International Dark Sky Reserve and only the second in the world. It is an amazing place to view the wonders of the night sky. The area is a veritable walkers paradise with a mixture of Moor, Wooded Valleys and Coast. We have the Quantocks, the Brendons, Doone Valley not forgetting the moor itself and of course, the start of the South West Peninsular Path which follows the coast for 600 miles to Poole.
