The East Anglia region

We have tried to make Elm Barn more than just a place to sleep, making it a place to enjoy in its own right. From summer BBQs, games in the large enclosed garden, and having fun with family & friends, there's lots to do. If you can drag yourselves away there so much to do in the lovely Norfolk Broads and countryside surrounding us. Trips to Cromer and Great Yarmouth or catching a steam train from Sherringham to the Georgian market town of Holt or a boat from Wroxham. Impressive stately homes and national trust properties are within reach, local sea fishing, golf, themed parks for the children including Bewilderwood and Dinosaur land and so on. You will find plenty of information in the barn.

Sea Palling

The Beach at Sea Palling - Walks right from the door to the beach. Sea Palling beach with its wonderful golden sand is a hidden gem of the Norfolk coast line. The beach has been awarded and retained the coveted Blue Flag award for several years, has the highest grading and water cleanliness by both the Marine Conservation society and Environment Agency . Its ideal for children with perfect sand for castle building, a small amusements arcade, children's park, fish & chip shop, cafe, pub and jet ski hire shop.

Watching Seals at Horsey (stopping at the Neslon pub for a pint) - A walk along the beach towards Waxham and Horsey (National Trust) may well be rewarded with sightings of seals which can be seen in abundance from November to March. For historians there is the famous Waxham Barn and Horsey Wind Pump and the Neslon is a superb traditional pub with large garden always worth stopping in at.

Coastal road from Sea Palling to North Norfolk - There's so many great villages and towns within a short drive. Head north to the historic Happisburgh lighthouse. Stop to go crabbing on the famous Cromer pier and buying fresh crabs to bring back. The coastal road takes you to the seaside town of Sherringham, and the north Norfolk towns of Clay on Sea, Wells next to the Sea, Blakney and Holkham.

Boat trips from Wroxham on the broads - Take a guided tour or rent a boat yourself and explore the broads. Wroxham Barns, home to a collection of traditional and contemporary crafts.
