Woodlands Farmhouse combines the heritage and charm of an historic old dairy farm with the style and chic of 21st Century living. It has seven bedrooms, (one of which is located on the ground floor and ideal for those who prefer not to use stairs) and sleeps 14 very comfortably, with a private hot tub.
The Sedum Spa located on the same site as the farmhouse is a shared facility which has; a 12x5m chlorine free indoor pool, sauna, relaxation room, Nordic hot tub, pool lounging area, 4 treatment rooms (a wide range of therapies are available), gym, separate male & female changing rooms. It is the perfect place to completely relax and unwind.
The house was completely renovated and refurbished over two years using the finest craftsmen to restore features such as the inglenook fireplaces, old bread oven, original flagstones and large elm floorboards to name but a few. Whilst preserving the old, we have also added the style and comforts of 21st Century living, with luxuries such as the hot tub, cinema room, wet room showers and bespoke designer kitchen.
Why not enjoy a tranquil countryside walk with your dog around the 100 acres of ours surrounding the house, before relaxing and unwinding at the spa or in the private massaging hot tub with a chilled glass of champagne. For the more active, the gym, games room and kids play area should keep even the most restless entertained. Located in the beautiful open countryside, close to Glastonbury, the property enjoys magnificent views of the hills and Tor. Nearby Longleat safari park offers a unique day out, driving in and amongst the lions and rhinos. Whilst for the architecturally minded, the World Heritage Site of Bath and, Wells the smallest city in England with its beautiful Cathedral, are within a short driving distance. The area also boasts such attractions as Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole caves, The Fleet Air Arm Museum and Haynes Motor Museum.
Glastonbury is famous for it's ancient history. Joseph of Arimathea (Jesus' great uncle) visited Glastonbury following Jesus' death and legend has it that this was the resting place for the holy grail. A few centuries after this King Arthur was buried at the foot of Glastonbury Tor (Avalon) and legend has it he still roams around the Abbey ruins! Either way, Glastonbury is a hive for spirituality and an alternative way of life. One visit to the town will make this abundantly obvious. It does have a great deal of charm though and of course all the necessary amenities. The area is probably best known for Glastonbury Festival which is a couple of miles from the property.
The surrounding fields offer a host of walking routes if you are feeling active. If not, just relax and go to the spa or light the wood burner and put your feet up, soak in the private massaging hot tub.
