The Villa of Light has been our home for 3 years, and this year we now offer it for rental. I don't want to put the usual platitudes of "best villa on the beach" etc. SImply read our reviews on Trip Advisor.
The vast majority of “beachside villas” are misnomers – they are not in fact located beachside. The Villa of Light, finished 3 years ago, and designed by Samui's premier architect, M-Systems, is situated literally on the award-winning Maenam beach in northern Samui. Open your gate and plunge into the soft sand. Walk another 10 metres and plunge into the warm, clean, azure waters of the ocean. Soft sandy floor, no stones, and its deep waters make it the best beach area for swimming or water sports in Koh Samui.
Enter the villa via the electronic gates and your internal car-parking area, and through the sturdy wooden front door, and the first thing you notice is that the neighbouring island of Koh Phangan is almost in your living room, despite it being 30 minutes ferry ride away! The glass doors that straddle the downstairs area lets in a fantastic amount of light, and give you spectacular views over the pool, beach and bay.
The villa sleeps six comfortably, with the possibility of another two persons. It has 2 main bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. There is one further bedroom with a mezzanine feature that sleeps another 2 comfortably, with ensuite bathroom.
The downstairs area is open-plan, one huge area, which accommodates the lounge area (with satellite equipped 55” LCD TV), DVD/I-Pod dock, a dining area (with beautiful 12 foot long wooden dining table), and modern fully equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave, oven) with black granite breakfast bar. Perfect for either fine or casual dining.
The floors throughout the villa are made of superior sandstone, which also covers the pool area, so that when the front glass doors are open, an impression is given of one larger seamless area.
The villa has 3 three well decorated, air-conditioned, bedrooms, two of which have sizeable balconies with stunning views over the bay to the neighbouring island of Koh Phangan. The bathrooms are ensuite, with European –style finishing. The master bedroom has a large bath, and the showers are all fashionably-tiled. Each room has ample wardrobe space.
There is an upstairs courtyard that separates the bedrooms, with seating area to allow you to have breakfast overlooking the ocean from a height.
All front-facing rooms overlook the pool and garden and offer amazing views of the bay and complete privacy and luxury.?? The l?ounge is equipped with satellite, LCD flat screen television, DVD and I-pod dock. WI-fi internet is available throughout the house.
The villa has a swimming pool of 12 metres length, with Bali-green tiles and waterfall feature. Easy access by way of stone steps into the pool. Outdoor shower. There are a number of easy-reclining sun-beds, with table and chairs, A number of Frangipani trees and the house itself offers shade when required.
There is a wooden sala in the garden, overlooking the beach, where we guarantee you will spend many hours, simply gazing along the stunning Maenam beach and across the bay. A great place to drink your cocktail or read your book in peace.
The Villa has a Video and games room that can if required be turned into a 4th bedroom. The room offers Wii, and PlayStation 3, with a 50” TV.
There is also a Gym room, with a treadmill and a modern multi-discipline weight machine.
Finally, the Villa is lucky enough to have one of the best small family-run restaurants in Samui literally next door, which will deliver full meals and drinks to the sala or even your dining room in the evening, at amazingly cheap prices! Just shout over the fence for your coconut shake! No need to cook on your vacation unless you want to!

Has a nice ring to it doesn't it? Koh Samui (occasionally spelled Ko Samui) is an island of natural beauty and charm, a place where you can have your holiday anyway you like it, kicked back and relaxed or active and fastpaced.
Beautiful white sand beaches, clean, clear warm water; lush tropical gardens and gentle ocean breezes await you at this ideal holiday destination. If you love the beach, this is the place for you!
Koh Samui weather is almost always beautiful.Blue sky days and a nice ocean breeze are the norm. For the purists, late December to the end of March is the ideal tropical island weather experience.
Some like it hot! If so, April to June is the time to really bake. Some like it wet! Try mid-October to early December
Getting here is easy – just a short 80 minute flight from Bangkok, but literally a world away from the action packed streets of the capital city.
Maenam beach is one of Samui's prettiest romantic and quietest beaches. There are plenty of restaurants to suit every budget, from 5 star dining to more casual local venues. This quaint coastal village has far more than meets the eye. Although a lot quieter than Chaweng, it does have some great pubs (bars) and is one place where having a quiet drink with your partner or friends needn't necessarily be land based. Not only that, the hotels and resorts in the area often have exciting night-time entertainment options that will certainly keep you up till the 'wee-hours'. The area has a "Walking Street" every Thursday which attracts visitors from all over the island, selling all kinds of goods, food and drink.
