The Valenciana region

Situated on the Costa Blanca with it's famous beaches and stunning climate. The area has everything to offer for your ideal holiday with many local beaches varying from miles and miles of beautiful golden sands sloping gently into the warm Mediterranean sea, to small secluded coves with rocky outcrops ideal for snorkeling. The area has a long and colourful history which is very evident in towns such as Cartagena (it's spectacular Roman amphitheatre and shelters built into the cliffs to protect people during the long and bloody Civil War are well worth a visit). Murcia boasts a beautiful cathedral and the "Airport" town of Alicante houses a cliff top castle offering spectacular views of the beautiful Costa Blanca coast.

Elche is also nearby, famed for the largest Palm forest in Europe it's pretty botanical gardens are a treat to see, soak up the tranquil, relaxed atmosphere in the middle of a bustling town. There are literally hundreds of churches/cathedrals dotted all through the Spanish terrain and Orihuela town nestles nearby amongst the impressive mountains. For safe and temperate bathing, ideal for children explore the Mar Menor or, for those looking for total relaxation sample the benefits of the mud bathes situated on the edge of the Mar Menor at San Pedro del Pinatar. The intriguing resort of La Manga is further afield but is well worth a visit.

Torrevieja Area

There are at least 5 championship golf courses within easy driving distance: Club Villa Martin, Club de Golf Las Ramblas and Real Club de Golf de Campoamor all within 10 minutes plus La Finca and the well known resort of La Manga within about 50 minutes. There are a wide variety of water sports available including Jet Ski/Boat hire, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Banana Boat rides etc. Organised day trips to the island of Tabarca are available from Torrevieja A Go-Cart track is located on the main N332 and a roof top crazy golf area is housed above one of the many local commercial areas.

Torrevieja hosts a large fairground every night of the week and many "local" resorts provide bouncy castles and a smaller selection of fairground rides during the summer season. A new commercial centre has recently opened at La Zenia Boulevard including well known high street brands such as Primark and C & A, along with "designer" shops including Mango and a host of bars, cafes and restaurants. We have a local market at La Flamenca which is within easy walking distance held on Saturday morning but the wider area boasts a market somewhere literally every day of the week. A couple of the more notable ones (in our humble opinion) are Guadamar on a Wednesday and Torrevieja on Friday.

The choice local quisine is wide and varied offering, Indian, Chinese, Irish, English, Italian, Scandinavian etc all within walking distance, the spectacularly situated Nautilus is within a short drive or, for the energetic about a 20 minute walk in Punta Prima. There are other restaurants dotted all along the N332 and many seafront establishments in the various resorts from the large promenade in Torrevija to small family run business' in the local "Playa's".
