formations create the ambience for an enjoyable holiday with enchanting and romantic sunsets.
Ko Samui has an abundance of restaurants and bars to suite evrey taste and budget. From sophisticated gourmet restaurants to local beachside bars, Koh Samui has something to suite everyone with some of the best nightlife in Thailand. You can indulge yourself at a high-end spa or have a relaxing beach massage at a fraction of the price.
Just the kind of beaches you find in the ads. Powdery white sand beaches with swaying coconut palms, lapped by clear, blue water. Some virtually deserted, others offering watersports and beach parties. Get a massage, have your hair braided, buy barbecued chicken, jewelery, sarongs or get to know the locals. Dine in candlelight on beachmats, lounge with watching a romantic sunset or simply doze off and chill out.
Koh Samui is the ideal place for a holiday, not only for the temperature constantly varying from 24° to 34° C, but also because visitors can find everything they need.
The Villa is close to Plai Laem Beach located in the top right hand corner of Koh Samui. It is a popular spot due to its location and fantastic views. Certain spots in Plai Laem offers fantastic sunsets. The sand stretches for 2 kilometres and is white and soft. The water is warm and kept calm by an offshore coral reef so it's great for paddling or swimming, and a bit of snorkelling.
Plai Laem boasts two of Samui's biggest religious sites, namely Big Buddha (Wat Phra Yai) and Wat Plai Laem - both worth visiting and close to the villa. Big Buddha, an impressive golden landmark, has several good clothing and souvenir shops on the grounds. Big Buddha's upper deck offers views across the bay and over to the small island of Ko Som, inhabited only by one fishing family. This island can be reached by kayak or sailboat, and is great for exploring or to get a true deserted island feel. Wat Plai Laem is a colourful temple housing two large statues, one of the jovial laughing Buddha, and one of an 18-armed Buddha. This is a good place to take children, as they can feed the thousands of catfish, fattened by tourists and worshippers, or take a paddle in a swan-shaped boat across the pond.
Plai Laem has its share of restaurants, ranging from good street cafes to fine-dining experiences at five-star resorts. BBC Restaurant, just before the entrance to Big Buddha, offers Western and Thai food at reasonable prices, and spectacular sunset views across the bay as well as of the local fishing village. The more laidback Sunset Cafe right next door offers cheap Thai food, making it a popular local hang out. If you want to splash out, the eco-friendly Six Senses Samui has two restaurants, Dining on the Rocks and Dining on the Hill. The resort also boasts one of Samui's top spas.
Close by is Choeng Mon beach which is popular with families. The bay is protected and good for swimming. The small island of Ko Fan Noi sits just offshore, and can be reached by foot at low tide, making for interesting exploration with children
