Carcassonne

Trausse (pop 500) is 25 mins drive from Carcassonne, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. It is surrounded by vineyards of Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah, this being the centre of the renowned Minervois wine region.

The village has a epicerie (grocery shop) with daily deliveries from the nearby boulangerie, a hairdresser, cafe, two restaurants, wine cooperative, three wineries, post office, and a communal tennis club. Four bus services run between the village and the nearest large town, Carcassonne, daily except Sunday.
