The Sardinia region

On the North East area of Sardinia coast, in Gallura, opposite to the archipelago of La Maddalena, in one of the most wonderful ramifications of the coast …the unspoiled nature offers its dream landscapes!

Capo d'Orso

(Cape Bear)

Palau is a place of great interest because of its coasts artistically shaped, unique and charming view made of majestic landscapes and spectacular granite rocks, which aided by the action of the sea and the wind, take picturesque and unique forms. The giant rock of Cape Bear in its age-old stillness dominates over the gulf. The name comes from the animal it looks like: the figure of a bear with its head turned towards the sea, inviting, from the top of the promontory, to inebriate oneself of an amazing show that constantly attracts thousands of tourists. This natural sculpture has been known since ancient times: located as it is on a 122 meter promontory jutting out towards the sea, it is visible from a great distance and was used as a point of reference by early navigators.

The little Palau

Today is, without any doubt, a renowned international tourist center, with its maritime cluster from where there are daily ferries to the enchanting archipelago of La Maddalena. The lively town shows food and wine bistro, little shops selling local handicrafts and souvenirs and live with numerous bars and restaurants along the harbor road. Palau people organize well attended and appreciated festivals and events in different periods of the year

La Maddalena Archipelago

One of the last ecological Italian paradises. In the group of islands, La Maddalena is the most important and the only inhabited land. It is a geomarine park that was established in 1996 as National Park. Beautiful bays and hidden coves offer unforgettable views constellate of majestic cliffs, white sand beaches and emerald waters. A spectacular view that bewitchs every visitor.

Santa Teresa di Gallura

A few miles from Palau is easily accessible by car the town of Santa Teresa, located in the northern coast of the island over a rocky plateau overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio. It's very pleasant to walk in the historic center for some hours of relax and shopping.
