The Knights Quarter is situated on the medieval Triq Gilormu Cassar, one of the most picturesque and photographed streets of Birgu. In early 2012, the house underwent a complete restoration and redecoration, giving the history and character of the building a fresh, modern air.
In a quiet, central locale, The Knights Quarter is just a few moments away from all local amenities and boasts stunning views overlooking the waterfront. With all the comforts and fixtures of home, the house is the perfect location to relax, dine or just watch the world go by.
On the ground floor you will find a comfortable lounge area, complete with a large sofa, TV, DVD player/library, board games and a range of books about Malta. Adjacent to the lounge are a dining table and a well outfitted pantry with tea and coffee making facilities, which provide a cosy space for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
A traditional spiral staircase takes you to the first floor. A large dressing room, complete with wardrobe, adjoins a spacious and high-ceilinged bedroom. This wooden-beamed first bedroom is home to a wrought iron double bed and your own private balcony, which is ideal for enjoying a quiet cup of tea or coffee in the morning.
Following the Maltese stone staircase you pass the WC and then the bathroom. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, a second toilet and wash basin.
The second floor contains not only the second bedroom, but a fully equipped kitchen too. The twin bedroom can be made up to your requirement: either as two singles or as a double. The room has all the comfort you need and also enjoys a private balcony overlooking the quaint street. Just sit, relax and enjoy the silence at night or the city life during the day.
The kitchen has all you need to produce a five star meal: a full oven and cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and more. The large fridge will make sure you can stock up properly on cold beer and wine to enjoy on the roof terrace.
As you leave the kitchen you enter the private roof terrace. Boasting incredible sights, the terrace allows you to relax in comfort and take in a panoramic view of Birgu, from the Grand Harbour and breakwater to the domes and grand churches of the medieval city.
The stylish and tasteful interior is designed by Jessica Slik, who was also in charge of the design of the award-winning Palazzo Vittoriosa, the five star boutique accommodation in Birgu. Her eye for detail, comfort and design guarantees that you will enjoy a great and comfortable stay in the Knights Quarter.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The house does has Airconditioning on the top floor only. All (other) rooms have ventilators / fans.
If you have difficulties with walking steps, we advice you to have a look our other house just around the corner: The Red House.
