The Park is situated just into Cornwall over the historic Tamar bridge. This makes it an ideal location for visiting all of Cornwall and its sister county Devon with the naval city of Plymouth just 8 miles away.
You will be ideally placed for visiting the Eden project just 15 minutes away and for a special day out please try and visit the Minarck theatre- an open air theatre near the end of the county at Lands end.
There is quite literally something for everyone whether it is pure relaxation close to nature, family activities, or a full blown activity holiday you can find it with easy reach of The Park.
Not only that but if food and drink is your passion then the range of excellent restaurants to suit all budgets are also close to hand. There is a family pub that serves food within walking distance of your bungalow ( about 5 minutes walk) as well as other choices within a short drive. And for the more adventurous you can enjoy the cosmopolitan restaurants of Plymouth ( including the restaurant of TV stars the tanners) and Padstow. Who hasn't heard of Rick Stein?
From the dramatic scenery of the north coast of Cornwall to the small sheltered bays to the surfing paradise of Newquay there is a beach for everyone within easy reach. Or perhaps you can explore the coastline of Devon with its strong maritime links such as Plymouth, and Dartmouth. The two nearest beaches to Notter Bridge are Downderry and Whitsand Bay. Downderry is just 15 minutes away located in a small village with a pub ,restaurant and shops. It is a mixture of sand and rocks so ideal to keep children interested. Access is easy. Whitsand bay is a lovely sandy beach with access is down a long flight of stairs but it is well worth the effort. There are no facilities at this beach.
Dogs are welcome at some beaches all year round and at others operate a ban between April and October. Please check before going
Walking -Cornwall is a great place for walking especially with the coastal path providing 300 miles of walking
Cycling-try out the Camel trail Padstow or the Plymm valley trail in Devon-both old railway tracks so not too hilly
Horse riding-just a couple of miles away at Penewin stables
Fishing can be found at Bake lakes or perhaps be more adventurous and go out mackerel fishing from Plymouth harbour
surfing an experience not to be missed at Newquay and surrounding beaches
Golf-there is a championship course at St Mellion just a few miles down the road or give it a go at the China Fleet club in Saltash
