The Old Smithy is well located for exploring the South Warwickshire area, including the north Cotswolds. Attractions include historic Stratford-upon-Avon (30 mins drive away), Warwick castle (25 mins), Royal Leamington Spa - a lovely regency town with excellent shopping, cafes and restaurants (25 mins drive)
Close to the cottage are Draycote water for sailing (8 miles), Hellidon Lakes golf course (1 mile), Burton Dassett hills (scene of English civil war battle of Edgehill) (10 miles). There's plenty of good walks from the cottage across the fields and through the lovely village of Priors Marston. Fishing is also available just a couple of miles away.
A few yards from The Old Smithy is the excellent village pub, The Hollybush - good food and beers. Just a couple of miles away is the renowned Butchers Arms, in our sister village, Priors Hardwick.
