A magical island holiday! This cosy modern cottage is on the western island of Inishbofin, located in the Atlantic Ocean off Conemara, Galway. It is 10 minutes walk to the pub/hotel/harbour. 10-15 minutes walk to the beautiful East End beaches.
The beautiful island of Inis Bó Finne (Island of the White Cow), 5 miles long by 3 miles wide, is situated 7 miles off the coast from Cleggan village, and serviced by 3 daily ferry sailings.
It is steeped in history and heritage. There is a wonderful natural harbour, characterized by the 16th Century star-shaped fort - Cromwell's Barracks.
With altogether less than 200 residents, the island is renowned for its lively traditional Irish music. A paradise for bird-watchers, anglers, artists! Cottage sleeps 6. Apartment sleeps 4.

MAIN HOUSE: Porch entrance at front of house; spacious open-plan kitchen and living room with open fireplace featuring local stone; double sliding doors to rear; solid oak floors on ground level and all wooden ceilings; wooden staircase leading up to 2 bedrooms (double bed and single bed in each) and bathroom with instant shower. Oil-fired central heating. Very well furnished and equipped. Sleeps 6 in the two bedrooms. Rate is €695 per week.
APARTMENT: Two bedrooms, sleeps 4; kitchen-sitting room; bathroom with instant electric shower; storage heaters; washer-dryer; fridge; gas cooker etc., wooden floors and ceilings throughout. Rate is €495 per week.
We also provide a selection of books, DVDs, jigsaws and playing cards.
A Welcome Folder has lots of information about the island and activities, important phone numbers and so on.
FURTHER DETAILS OUTDOORS:
There is a patio area with garden furniture facing the sun. We provide a BBQ stand and utensils and can purchase disposable charcoal trays on your behalf, to start you off. From the bedrooms upstairs you have a view of High Island to your left (and can sometimes get a glance of the ferry-boat coming past) and to the right is a view of the sea to the north.
The cottage is situated on its own ground: 1 acre of bogland with a steep hill up the back which you can climb up a bit & sit above, which has a fabulous view of the island, sea etc.
RENTAL PERIOD: 17:00 hrs on arrival day (generally Saturday) until 12:00 hrs on departure day. Long weekend bookings (e.g. for a wedding) starts on Thur and is charged at the weekly rate.
BOOKING: 50% deposit on booking, balance due 8 weeks before arrival. A standard contract document is in place.
SECURITY DEPOSIT of €150 (refundable) also applies, and is payable along with the balance, 8 weeks before the commencement of the let.
LINEN: All bed linen is provided and beds are made up.
TOWELS: are provided, also bath rugs and kitchen tea-towels. Also beach towels.
GAS for hob is included; electricity and heating oil are metered and charged at cost.
BBQ facilities and utensils provided. Let us know if you require disposable charcoal trays (instant light) so we may arrange it for you at cost of €8 per twin pack.

The island is located off the coast of Conemara, Co Galway.
Inishbofin is one of the few places in Ireland where a Blowhole can be seen. Sea stacks can be viewed at the Stags of Inishbofin. There are five villages: West Quarter, Fawnmore, Middle Quarter, Cloonamore and Knock. The beaches all around the island are really beautiful, unpolluted and a great attraction also for divers. The island attracts ecologists, bird-watchers, archaelogists, artists, writers.

Inishbofin Island is well-known for sessions in the pubs, and the local musicians are always delighted to welcome visiting musicians. There are great concerts on Tuesday nights at the Dolphin Hotel, featuring some of the best well-known Irish singers
