"Trullo Nicla" is an old, traditional "trullo" in the apulian countryside, ten minutes drive from the beautiful town of Martina Franca.
The house is composed by 5 "cones" and one "lamia", each one corresponding to the cealing of one room. Rooms inside are connected one to the other.
There is a well equipped kitchen, a modern bathroom ( with basin, bidet, bathtub with shower and a washing machine), a small dining area with a traditional fireplace. Through this room you reach a passage room with a sofa-bed, and two other bedrooms: one with a double bed, the second one with two single beds.
The thick stone walls of the "trullo" ( more than one meter) keep a nice temperature inside the house all the year round, even in summer time.
The trullo il surrounded by 7400 sq metres of land cultivated with fruit trees (pick as much figs, peers, grapes, almonds, chestnuts as you wish in season!), olive trees and a grapes.
In front of the house is a large threshing-floor, furnished with table and chairs, paved with old 'chianche', the precious white stones of the area.

In Apulia ,in southeastern Italy, farming is the chief occupation. Farm products include olives, grapes, cereals, almonds, figs, tobacco and livestock. One of the richest in Italy for archeological findings, the region was settled from the 1st millennium BC by several Illyric and Italic peoples. Later, the Greeks expanded until reaching the area of Taranto and the Salento. Apulia is an enormous environmental treasure, in surface like in the underground. (unforgettable the Castellana underground caves). Apulia is famous all over the world for the taste and the quality of its typical cuisine.
The trullo is located half a way between Ionic and Adriatic Sea (approx. 25 km from each side), surrounded by beautiful small towns like Grottaglie, well-known for its ceramic handicrafts (11 km), Martina Franca, also called ‘the small Lecce’, with its beautiful baroque old palaces and churches and a big golf club nearby (12 km), Ostuni, the ‘white town’ (17 km), Cisternino, with its traditional street butcheries (15 km), Alberobello, wellknown for its 'trulli' constructions (aprx 30 km), the nice village of Locorotondo (20 km), Fasano and its "Zoosafari": a safari park and funfair for younger visitors, and Taranto, the big harbour, with its historical buildings, seafood restaurants, surrounded by archaeological ‘messapic’ sites.
Many religious and folk music festivals ( like "Notte della Taranta" festival in August ) take place in the region in summer time.
