The Limassol region

Limassol is a harbour town in the south of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. It is the second largest city of the island and it is situated between the ancient towns of Amathus and Curium. In the old part of the town, which is partly car-free, there is a castle, some museums and a market.

Cypriots relate Limassol to the wine which is cultivated in a good quality all around the town. Nowadays Limassol is a fast developing city with a large boulevard, parks and nice beaches. The middle aged centre, along the streets of Makariou and Ayiou Andreou are ideal for some exciting shopping experience. Apart from that, the hometown of the 'lovers of good life' offers a wide range of excellent restaurants and a very lively nightlife.

For those looking for bathing fun, the beaches of Ladies Mile, Curium, Ayios Georgios, Ayios Alemanos and Governors Beach are recommended. If you are traveling with children, Fasouri waterpark is a fun place to spend a day. It is also suitable for adults.

Limassol is famous for its carnival, flower- and wine-festival as well as for the well-known Cyprus Rally. There are concerts and theatres taking place throughout the whole year.

Palodia is situated 7 km (4.3 miles) north of the centre of Limassol and is 250 meters above sea level. The motorway is easily reached in less than 10 minutes drive and the airports of Larnaca and Paphos are about 50 minutes drive from the house.

Palodia is perfectly located for driving to the sandy beaches, trips to the mountains, traditional local villages, castles and archaeological excavation sites.
