2 bedroom spacious apartment. Quiet location. Parking is outside the door, no long stairs to climb. Located on small residential gated complex. Lounge/kitchen/dinner layout. Master bedroom with en-suite and direct access to terrace via french doors. Communal pool. Unobstructed beautiful sea outlook with the active volcano Stromboli, smoke slowly rising from its summit, clearly visible on clear days..

This spacious 2 bed apartment has been furnished throughout to provide comfort with the provision of everything you might expect to make your holiday an enjoyable experience. The 2 double bedrooms have comfortable beds providing for a good night's sleep.

The master bedroom with en-suite has access to the large patio area via French doors – the view is stunning; the other double bedroom is light and airy with access to a separate large shower room just outside its door.

Best suited to those who simply want to relax and 'chill-out' either on one of the 2 large terraces quietly away from others, down by the pool or on one of the close-by beaches. We would advise a car as being necessary for most people especially in the summer months. Whist the nearest supermarket is a relatively short walk, it is downhill, along a busy road and it is HOT!

A car is advantageous enabling you to make the most of the surrounding area whilst soaking up the culture. However, nearby Tropea, Vibo Marina and Pizzo are all accessible by the small local railway.

The secured complex is accessed by remote controlled gates using a radio key-fob; parking is directly outside of the apartment. Access to the apartment is at ground level direct from the car park with no stairs to climb thus making access for those with reduced mobility possible. The apartment however is on the top floor thus providing the best views out to sea!

There are three very small steps down from the car park and then one up into the apartment leading directly into the lounge. The panoramic views can be enjoyed not only from the terrace but also from the comfortable settee in the lounge. There are several stairs leading down from the apartment to access the pool area at the lower ground level, but for those with reduced mobility you can drive and enter the complex at the lower level.

The complex is very small consisting of only 24 apartments and 11 villas. The gardens are stocked with beautiful begonvillias and other exotic plants and shrubs. The large swimming pool can be accessed via small steps or hand-rail and overlooks the sea.

Southern Italy region

Calabria is nestled in the toe of Italy. Described by Lonely Planet as a place of “startling natural beauty and spectacular towns that seem to grow out of the craggy mountaintops”, Calabria offers a variety of different landscapes, from the stunning coastal areas with craggy cliffs set against brilliant blue seas; to the rugged mountainous inland dotted with traditional villages.

Vibo Valentia – a city 43 km from Lamezia. The castle and the cathedral of S.Leoluca are well worth a trip. You can find Greek remains including a temple at the Hipponion Ruines. Not far from Vibo Valentia is Serra San Bruno, a village famous for its monastery. The surrounding area is of outstanding natural beauty.

Pizzo – a fortified town with its Byzantine castle is approx. a 15 minute drive from the apartment. Its cobbled streets and piazza enable one to sit and soak up the culture whilst enjoying a glass of wine, a coffee, an ice cream or even a pizza. Pizzo has its own white sandy beach. There are plenty of restaurants both on the beach front and at the top of the town.

Tropea – a town famous for its white beaches which run along the coast to Capo Vaticano is a 'must see'. The coastal road between Pizzo Calabro to Capo Vaticano, through Tropea is called Costa degli Dei (Gods coast) and is one of the most beautiful in Italy. Tropea is approx. a 10 minute drive from the apartment.

Reggio di Calabria, Tropea, Zambrone, Vibo Marina and Lamezia can all be reached by train as the train line runs all along this coast.

Reggio di Calabria - the capital city of Calabria has a vast array of sophisticated shops along with a beachfront promenade providing for pleasant strolling relaxation; there are also museums to visit. Sicily is clearly visible and a ferry trip across the short stretch of the Straits of Messina allows for a day trip to the island. Reggio di Calabria is about an hour's drive from the apartment or alternatively you can catch the train from Zambrone station.

The unpolluted beaches and beautiful bays such as Sant Irene, Briatico, Zambrone and Tropea are just a few minutes' drive from the apartment.

Colorful markets take place around the area, the biggest being in Vibo Valentia, followed by Vibo Marina. Other smaller more local markets can be found in Briatico, Pizzo and Tropea.

Golf is available at Feudo Montalto Golf Club approx. 30km from the apartment.

Skiing is possible during the winter months in central Calabria's mountainous region with Silas being 80km from the apartment.

Trekking is popular in spring and summer throughout the national parks. Birdwatchers may be able to see black woodpeckers, eagles, peregrine falcons, eagle owls, sandpipers, redshanks and wild duck, depending on the time of year.

Tropea

The local area is very rustic, forget telephone signals and remember the siesta time when the whole place comes to a peaceful stop - do not get caught out! Temperatures are very high in July and August, do not forget the sun-cream. On occasions, the location of the apartment can see a welcoming gentle breeze. A sat nav will see you use some roads that don't look like roads but enjoy them, they are! Evening time sees the locals out promenading - Tropea and Pizzo provide excellent example. Little English is spoken but that adds to the enjoyment. The locals may look at you but are more than friendly.

There are numerous festivals and musical events throughout the spring/summer months.
