An old water tower converted to offer accommodation for two persons.

Our property is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty just 1 km from the medieval village of Montalba le Chateau and is set in 13 acres of informal gardens and woodland. It is a quiet, peaceful setting full of wild animal and bird life, fantastic scenery for walking and riding in.

The old water tower, some 100 meters from the main house, sits on one of the many grass terraces. It is simply furnished in country style and offers a bedroom with double bed and bathroom en suite, The adjacent terrace is shaded with the addition of a waterproof sail and has an outdoor kitchen with a gas barbecue/oven and plancha, electric hot plates, refrigerator and sink with hot and cold water.

Each morning we can bring breakfast to you set on your terrace at a time to suit your plans for the day.

A salt water swimming pool is available in summer months. Recreational activities locally are walking, cycling and our near neighbours offer horse trekking by the half day, whole days with picnics or longer excursions into the mountains.

Montalba le Chateau is a medieval village at the foothills of the Pyrenees set in beautiful, peaceful countryside yet only ten minutes drive to the nearest town of Ille-sur-Tet and thirty minutes from Perpignan.

From our Mas there are views of the Mediterranean and of Mount Canigou (the sacred mountain of the Catalans) and beyond to the ski slopes further up the Tet Valley. The area around Montalba has been designated an area of natural beauty, full of wild flowers, herbs and wildlife. It is an excellent area for walking, cycling and horse riding.
