The Hebrides/Skye region

Old, remote and wild region. Full of history, legend and folklore. Scenery ranks among the best in the world. Good for outdoor pursuits e.g. walking, sightseeing, sea trips, wildlife and fishing. Bring outdoor clothing etc as the weather can change quickly. Strongly advise having a car to get around and explore the island.

Portree

No better base for exploring Skye and beyond. Has all the facilities of

a large village so you can go off into remote country and come back at the end of the day to a meal, drink or perhaps a concert, pub music or cinema.
