These 1895 original old village stone houses, restored with environmental materials are set in a quiet, traditional corner of the village of Malona. Just 5 minutes drive from the beautiful golden beach of Agathi, and the pretty harbour of Haraki, the village of Malona has alot to offer in both the summer and the winter. It is an active traditional agricultural village, surrounded by orange, mandarin and olive groves which keep the locals busy all year around. Malona is a small village with little narrow streets, and retains its Greek traditional pace of life. A place where the men of the village sit out in the evenings in the local cafes, and the women sit together in the streets with the children. Many here speak some English after time spent working in America, and you will find them mostly friendly. A 15 minute drive finds you in the beautiful village of Lindos for romantic evenings out, or 10 minutes in the other direction, in the heart of Rhodes 2nd town Archangelos.

The Aegean Islands region

Situated on the east side of the island, the area of Malona is considered to be in the south of the island, in the area of Lindos.

This is an area of natural beauty with valleys, rivers and hidden waterfalls to be found. Great for walking, peace and quiet and wonderful beaches too.

For more sophistication, join in with the beauty of Lindos the gem of Rhodes, where you can sit on the roof tops enjoying great food and drinks with the glimmering mediterranean sea and Acropolis as your back drop.

The wilder emptier coastlines and mountain villages of the deep south await your exploration, with small castles and stunning views to be found.

In the spring find the island covered in wild edible greens and flowers, with temperatures in the early to mid 20s and swimming is fresh and rewarding.

The summer months bring with it that steamy constant heat of the Greek islands with long lazy days spent drifting in and out if the sea, and hot nights enjoying alfresco dining at its finest.

As the autumn arrives, the island begins to refresh again after the first short rains, and the island begins to grow again with fresher days still in the mid 20s and more opportunity and energy for exploring the wonderful delights the island has to offer.

Even in the winter months when the main tourism departs, this island has a wilder beauty with empty beaches and a very satisfyingly idyllic way of life where temperatures tend to settle around 16 and rarely drop under 10, and the weeks are still full of predominantly blue skies.

This island is a year round paradise which holds interest for everyone whatever they are seeking.
