For days when you need a break from the sun there are plenty of caves and ancient chateau's to tour nearby. Nontron is fortunate to be located close to Bergerac and Cognac for those connoisseur's who want to taste the local produce!
The town of Brantome with its famous Abbey built into the rock is a mere 20 minute drive away. The more adventurous can hire a kayak here and paddle down the river that passes through the middle of this ancient town (known as the Venice of the South).For Golf enthusiasts the Dordogne offers some of the finest courses in Europe. All of which have reasonable green fees and are locally situated.
The town of Nontron is famous for it's knife making and draws visitors from all over the world to the festival held every year in August.
