Postira was first mentioned in the 14th century. Postira is a little Mediterranean town located on the northern side of the island Brac, 8 kilometers from the island's port of Supetar. Coming out from the clear blue of the Adriatic, Postira climbs up the hill to embrace the centuries old olive fields and pine forests that partly replaced dead vine and also it comes into the fertile valley of vine yards and tangerine to the south.
• Dol – one of the oldest villages at the island, with amazing views and old stone houses, most of which several hundred years old. It's located 2 km south of Postira, driving inlands.
• Splitska – a beautiful old village with palms in the centre and some amazing beaches around it, and great restaurants and cafes both during the day and in the evening. Very quiet past midnight. It's en route to Supetar, about 2 km drive or 1.5 km walk by the sea.
• Lovre?ina – an amazing sandy beach, very popular with tourists for its beautiful bay. It has parking facilities and a beach bar/restaurant and ruins of an early Christian basilica. It's a nice 3 km walk by the sea through the pinewood or a 3.5 km drive along the main road to the east. It's a popular jogging path by the sea.
• Škrip – the oldest village at the island and a home to the Museum of the Island, with a permanent exhibition of the island's history and tradition and occasional temporary exhibits. It is located some 3.5 km drive north of Splitska.
• Pu?iš?a – the next larger village, famous for its white marble-like stone quarries, which were used to build parts of the British Parliament and the White House in Washington DC and many other famous structures since the ancient Roman days. The village has a long bay with many nice restaurants and bars. It's a 7 km drive to the east.
