For the great outdoor lovers in the summer hiking, rafting, walking,climbing mountain / road cycling; are just a few of the many activities on offer in the months of May through to early October and for all you snow lovers choose from skiing, snow boarding, trekking ( snow shoeing ), nordic skiing in the winter; beginning December through to March
The Atlantic Pyrenees has a wealth of culture & traditions with it's own unique flavours & dishes.
The months of July, August & September provide glorious sun and high temperatures with a broad selection of activities; catering for the gentle rambler right up to the Adrenaline junkie.
Why not walk the gentle rambling paths along the Ossau valley or for the more energetic try some of the Hiking trails through the mountains or take a ride up the cable car and take a trip on the Little mountain train; alternatively hire a downhill scooter and hurtle down the ski pistes which are open for your enjoyment even in the summer.
Or enjoy some of the white water adventures offered on the local rivers.

The Pyrenees is by far the most unspoilt landscape in France and encompasses 31,000 hectares stretching across the Franco-Espagnole frontier, the national parks of Mount Perdu & Gavarnie are UNESCO protected world heritage sites; far less commercial than the Alpes; with an abundance of natural beauty in the form of, flora & fauna it makes for an ideal holiday location.
There are a myriad of activities to enjoy & participate in; white water rafting, walking / climbing/ trekking, off-road mountain biking / road cycling ascending some of the famous french peaks seen each summer during The Tour de France or hiking the 7 lakes trail, or a more leisurely stroll up to the barrage at lake Carnau, after the; not to be missed/ must see little yellow mountain train.
The four glacial cirques: Gavarnie, Estaubé, Troumouse and Baroude are sites of outstanding natural beauty & well worth a visit.
In the winter months there are 3 ski stations, Artouste,Gourette & Formigal ( spanish side), to provide a selection of winter sports; surfing, downhill skiing / cross-country skiing or snow shoe-ing
