The West Country region

The West Country is the sleepy country of the U.K. Full of farmland, countryside, rivers, waterways and miles and miles of green fields. Scattered amongst the beautiful rural land are villages and towns that manage to keep a country feel, even in this modern age. Bath, although a city, has a calm feeling whilst providing absolutely all the buzz of a city if you choose it and masses of opportunity to visit surrounding areas full of history, culture and fascination.

Bath

Bath was built for the people of London to have somewhere to come purely to socialise. It is today packed full of bars, restaurants, pubs, clubs, museums, shops and cinemas with the famous Theatre Royal that has shows on before they go to the West End. Bath boasts the Thermae Spa which is the only natural spa in Britain and a not-to-be-missed pampering delight.

The architecture of Bath is world-famous and some of the most beautiful buildings in the world are here; including The Royal Crescent, The Circus, Bath Abbey, The Roman Baths and Pulteney Bridge to name but a few. In the centre is also the famous Bath Rugby Club. At Christmas people come to visit the Christmas Market from all over the world.

Bath is popular for shopping; especially for its many quirky independent shops as well as the usual large stores and is very popular with groups of friends for shopping breaks. There is a huge park for children a few minutes from the apartment and there is a Leisure Centre in the city for all. The Theatre Royal has a special dedicated children's theatre called 'The Egg' where they also do activities for children in the holidays.
