Holidays in Florida are all fun in the sun. Why else would it be called the Sunshine State? A firm favourite, Florida holidays aren't all about theme parks. Of course, this is the theme park capital of the world and the crowds come for Disney, Universal Orlando® Resort and SeaWorld® Orlando. But step away from the smiley happy atmosphere of the parks and you'll find a different vibe instantly.
The central hub of all the action is Orlando but as it covers such a large area you'll find mini-resorts aplenty. Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee, Davenport, and International Drive area to name but a few. A stay in one of these areas means you'll be perfectly placed for all of the attractions. But a half hour drive north and you'll come to the real Orlando, with its business district, history and plenty of good restaurants and bars.
Head west for a coastline swathed with golden beaches. Powder soft sands await you at St Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa. Further south you'll find chic Naples and the Everglades National Park home to wildlife such as manatee and crocodile!
Dripping off the southernmost tip of Florida are the Keys, a haven for diving enthusiasts and those who love the laid back vibe. Kick off your shoes, slow yourself down and get ready to chill. In sharp contrast nearby Miami is party central. With its art-deco heritage and Spanish influences you can be sure of a great time here.
A trip to the east coast is a must for any summer holiday to Florida. The Atlantic seas bash dramatically against the shore. And with Fort Lauderdale, also known as Little Venice and the NASA Kennedy Space Centre you'll be spoilt for choice!
Holidays in Davenport mix up the fun of the theme parks with the serenity of the real Florida. So in a word – you get the best of both worlds on Davenport holidays. Although you're only a 15 -minute car journey from Orlando's world-class attractions here, you couldn't be further from the world of roller coasters and fast food. Chic and stylish, it's easy to see why those in the know have chosen to live in this upmarket slice of the Sunshine State.
Tranquility villa is situated just 5 minutes from the world famous Champions Gate golf resort.
Champions Gate is a golfer's paradise. Encompassing a massive 1,500 acres, the exclusive complex offers up 36 holes, all designed by international champion Greg Norman. And not only are they tournament-worthy, but they look the part, too. Perfectly-manicured greens stretch as far as the eye can see. Lagoon-shaped bunkers are filled with sand that looks like it's been lifted from Miami Beach. And glossy palms stand guard of luxurious green-side villas. There's no better spot in Florida to tee off. At the end of a round, or when you just fancy taking a break, head to the Champions Gate clubhouse. You can get your hands on the latest gear in the pro-shop, or cool off with a drink in the bar. But it's not all about pitching and putting. Just around the corner from the golfing greens you'll find Champions Gate Village. Home to more than a dozen shops and restaurants – including big-name giants like McDonalds and Subway – it's a great spot to kick off an evening. Further afield, meanwhile, Orlando's famous attractions line up. Walt Disney World and Universal Studios are only a fifteen minute drive away, while the bars and movie theatres of International Drive are just as close. What's more, you can reach Florida's iconic beaches within an hour or so.
