The Phuket region

World renowned beaches and restaurants, upmarket and local - both have their charms. Phuket is described as 'the pearl of the Andaman' and our particular part lives up to this billing. We're situated a few minutes back from the beach with easy access to beach bars and restaurants. All this is set amidst a backdrop of lagoons and tropical mountains!

The high season is from November to March when the climate is generally sunny with temperatures hovering around 32 degrees. Outside of this period the weather is generally wetter but with fewer people to share the beach with!

Festivals abound, and yachties are well catered for within the two world class Marinas 6 miles away on the east coast. There are wonderful examples of Indochine colonial architecture in Phuket Old Town and some amazing shopping malls within a 30 minute drive. Phuket Town's weekend night market is an amazing experience both culinary and for shopping bargains.

Bang Tao

The Bang Tao and Laguna areas are much quieter than much of the rest of Phuket making it an ideal base for families and couples. The beach rarely gets crowded and the golden sand is backed by swaying Casuarina trees. There are a few low key beach restaurants and bars and of course various opportunities to have a beach massage, pedicure or manicure. We are close to the upmarket Laguna complex with its 5 star hotels, shops and amazing Spa retreats. Alternatively you might want to hire bikes and explore the tropical residential side streets of Bang Tao village for a real taste of local Thai life. There are a few water sports available up the beach towards the Laguna area whilst further down the beach towards Bang Tao village there is a whole host of beach side amenities. If you travel a mile inland to the busier town of Cherngtalay you'll find Tesco Lotus and Boots, amongst a range of other Thai shops and of course the unmissable night market (Mondays and Thursdays). Don't forget the elephant rides!
