The detached cottage is set in the grounds of the owners 7 hectares of land and is independent from the owners house. It has the usual facilities with 3 double bedrooms. There is a patio for exclusive use of tenants beside the cottage and a private area of garden (with BBQ) at the rear of the cottage. There are lovely views from the cottage and garden down the valley overlooking woods and farmland.
Tenants have priority use of the 29 meter long swimming pool that has beautiful views down a valley - please check the photos. The full details and numerous photos are available at the owners dedicated web site at:
We don't recommend the property for families with very young children as there are steep drops around the property.
The cottage is within 1.5 kms of the bastide / village of Eymet which has numerous restaurants and bars and good shopping facilities. The owners have 4 bicycles for the use of the tenants. Bergerac, situated on the Dordogne, is 25 minutes away and cheap flights can be found to the airport which is served by Ryan Air and Flybe from various cities within the UK.

The cottage is just outside Eymet which is a lively and attractive 13 century bastide village in the Dordogne. Eymet has good shopping facilities (including an "English shop"!) and several restaurants and bars, incluing a very popular Italian/pizza restaurant and an excellent chinese restaurant in addition to the traditional French restaurants. Eymet has a local market every Thursday and a fun 'night' market every Tuesday evening in the summer.
This part of the Dordogne has numerous other bastide villages, all of which were built around the 13th century and designed as a fortified base for the local population. Most (like Eymet) have a central square and fortified church. All have their own individual styles and are worth a visit.
Nearby is Bergerac which is an attractive market town based on the Dordogne river. Karting, bowling and canoeing are some of the facilities available - a trip down the Dordogne in a canoe, mooring for a picnic along the river, is a 'must'. There are also numerous attractive villages perched above the river or, about an hour from Eymet, the beautifully restored village of Sarlat. Not to mention the famous pre-historic caves at Lascaux.
