The West Country region

Cornwall is a beautiful county and really has something on offer for everyone. Whilst St Ives has plenty to keep you occupied during your stay there are many attractions and activities that are easily accessible from Primrose Cottage these are few of our favourites!

ST MICHEALS MOUNT This national trust property really is worth a visit, if you check the tide times you can walk across the causeway and if you miss the tide change there are regular boats that run all day during the summer months. The gardens are truly beautiful and the perfect spot for a picnic whilst enjoying the view with plenty of open space and a wonderful view. The castle itself is also open to the public and times and pricing can be found on their website. www.stmichealsmount.co.uk

THE CAMAL TRAIL: This is arguably the most success bike trail in the UK running from Bodmin to Padstow. You can hire bikes in Padstow, Wadebridge or Bodmin and the choose the route you take. From Wadebridge to Padstow is 6 miles and Padstow is worth a stop for lunch! If you get chance a little walk form the harbour is the beach which is breath taking on a sunny day.

THE EDEN PROJCT: Most people have heard of the Eden Project and many have already visited. For something different it is worth checking out their website for events and activities throughout the year, we would definately recomend a spot of iceskating during the winter months. www.edenproject.com

GEEVOR TIN MINE:

MOUSEHOLE: One of Cornwalls many traditional fishing villages, what is really special are the Christmas lights which are switched on every evening at 5pm over the festive season.

St Ives

There are so many things to do it St Ives these are a few of my families favourites!

THE BEACH: You are spolit for choice in St Ives, Porthmeor is the closest beach only 3 minutes from the cottage with a Blue Flag, Surfing/ Kayaking/ Paddle Boarding & a fantastic beach cafe with a bbq every evening during the summer.

EATING: There really are so many wonderful places to eat in St Ives with something for everyone! You will find more details of places to eat at the Cottage but this weeks top 3 are;

1. PORTHMEOR BEACH

2. PORTHGWIDDEN BEACH

3. BLAS

THE TATE, BARBRA HEPWORTH MUSEUM, ST IVES GHOST WALK, NUMEROUS WONDERFUL GALLERIES, SHOPS and so much more to do rain or shine!
