Tolentino

Villa Nena offers a wide selection of activities and places to visit in a very short distance: 1 km far you have the Thermal Baths of Santa Lucia with a full choice of treatments available; the town of Tolentino is noteworthy for its Basilica of St.Nicola, the Rancia Castle and its museums.

Other cultural places nearby are: Recanati (birthplace of Giacomo Leopardi, one of Italy’s most important poet), Loreto (with its Sanctuary), Urbisaglia (Roman Theatre), the ruins of the Varano Fortress in Camerino, the Abbey of Santa Maria di Chiaravalle in Fiastra, one of Italy’s better preserved Cistercian piece of architecture, the castles of Caldarola and Lanciano dating back to Middle Ages, and, last but not least, Macerata which is well known for the opera Festival taking place in summers in the “Sferisterio” arena.

If you like nature, you cannot miss visiting the Frasassi Caves and the stunning gorge named “Gola della Rossa”, near Ancona; you can spend your time walking and hiking along the paths on the Sibillini Mountains or swim in the clear waters of the Lake of Fiastra.

If you prefer the sea, reach by a short drive the Adriatic Coast where you’ll find sandy beaches like Senigallia and wilder landscapes such as the Riviera of the Conero, where the slopes of the Conero mountain sink into the sea, creating small caves and tiny beaches.
