Somerset is one of those forgotten counties where people whizz by on the way to Cornwall. What they are missing is a beautiful area full of lovely scenary, splendid walks, many historical places, fabulous days out, gorgeous beaches, and quaint little villages. Places of interest include: Lyme Regis and Minehead beaches. Towns such as Glastonbury, Wells, Bristol and Bath. Days out such as Wookey Hole, Cheddar Caves, Clarkes Shopping Village, the Castle at Dunster, Yeovilton Fleet Air Musuem. Heastercombe Gardens, Cricket St. Thomas Wildlife Park. Bristol Zoo and Science Museum. The Quantock Hills for walkers, and the Somerset Levels with its abundance of amazing wildlife such as Cranes and Herons
The Woodcroft is situated on the edge of the Somerset Levels. Here you can enjoy a wealth of wildlife such as the Cranes recently introduced back into this country and Herons. The Taunton and Bridgwater Canal is a 2 minute walk from the property where you can walk or cycle or visit the tearooms and take a boat trip. The very picturesque village of North Curry is only 5 minutes in the car with a great shop and post office and lovely old pub. The Newt Beer Festival is held every year in the nearby village of North Newton in the grounds of Maunsel House as seen on T.V. Somerset carnivals are unique and a must in the Autumn, with Bridgwater being the largest lit procession in the world. Quite spectacular!
