The house takes its name from the bridge which gives access to the premises(il ponticello means, in fact, little bridge).
The house is located in village Torreone, in the town of Cortona, which is only 2 km far, that can also be walked on foot. It's in the green,on a hill, from its windows one can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Val di Chiana and Lake Trasimeno; on clear days, you can see in the distance, Mount Amiata.
The apartment is part of a cottage which is on the top floor and has independent entrance for cars and pedestrians. The house consists of an entrance hall with kitchen, dining area, sitting area and fireplace, balcony, a small hallway, bathroom and a spacious master bedroom.
It has been recently restored and refurnished(June 2010) and has finish in brick, chestnut fixtures, heater, fireplace, washing machine, TV and DVD player, the ground outside.
All windows are equipped with mosquito screens, so you can keep them open
The sofas are both convertible into beds, in such a way the house can accommodate up to 5 people.

DISCOUNTS FOR LONG STAYS
Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, artistic legacy and its permanent influence on high culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and has been home to many figures influential in the history of art and science. As a result, the region boasts museums (such as the Uffizi, the Pitti Palace and the Chianciano Museum of Art). Tuscany is famous for its wines, including the well-known Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino.
Tuscany has over 120 protected nature reserves, making Tuscany and its capital Florence popular tourist destinations that attract millions of tourists every year.
Cortona is known for its beauty, its history, and thanks to events like the festival of the steak, the market exhibition of antique furniture, or thanks to the cinema ("Under the Tuscan Sun" was filmed here). It 's a charming old town, lying on a hill about 600 meters above sea level, whose origins are lost in history and classical mythology; according to these the founder of Cortona, the mythical Dardano, descended directly from the empire of Troy.
For sure in Cortona are present and have been found numerous Etruscan ruins, including city walls, later extended by the late Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
It's simply wonderful getting lost in the picturesque steep streets, explore the squares, palaces, churches, hidden gardens, corners of the town full of history and art, surrounded by the scent of the typical Tuscan cuisine that comes from homes and restaurants.
