The cottage is well equiped for family life or a romantic break.There is a wood burning stove T.V and D.V.D also C.D player there is an antique french wood burner in the lounge. Antique furniture abounds.

Books, puzzles, scrabble, manopoly, magazines, internet connection.

Outside is a trampoline, sand pit, chickens in a pen to feed if you wish, a lovely lion head rabbit, doves. A playing feild with slide, round about, swings, obstacle course and climbing frame. And a football pitch.

The pub the Barton Inn is 4 minutes walk or 2 if you walk fast!! A lovely family run pub with live bands, good pizzas ales, wines, or soft drinks.....

The lounge has a beauiful cottage feel with antique french wood burning stove. Juliet is a profesional photographer and artist her original art work and phtography adornes the walls. It is bright clean and has a peaceful ambience. The setees are comfortable and there are veiws of the garden and church from the lounge and kitchen. Antique furniture and modern cottage fabrics compliment the cottage ambience. The dinning room has lovely antique mahogany table quite ornate and the chairs are also antique mahogany. A smaller barley twist table can join the table to sit 6.

We have a camp bed available.

There are seasonal vegetables, herbs fruit and eggs available at a small cost. A secluded garden with chairs and table is at the rear with exterior door from kitchen. There are alao a set of chairs and umbrella at the front with wonderful veiws over the garden. The winding drive brings you down to an open garden surrounded by trees and adjacent is a huge village green with village hall attached to the top of the drive the cottage is well set back from the road and the village hall very secluded and held.

Tennis court adjoins the property, playing field gives very spacious feel to the property.

50% deposit is required to secure all bookings. Though this is a very safe place- parents are responsible for children at all times.

The West Country region

Somerset is a hub for the creative Arts, Sacred Ancient landscape, good food drink and nightlife. It is steeped in myth and magic and has some of the most famous legends known to the world. King Arthur and Merlin and Christ is said to have travelled to Glastonbury.

Stonehenge the world famous stone circle is less than an hours drive.

Ancient city of Bath is a truly stunning city. Culture and couture galore, only an hour away with its ancient healing spa, and baths, beautiful shops restaurants all with historical atmosphere and stunning architectural style.

Wells Cathedral city is only 15 minutes away with market on Wednesday and Saturday a quality and atmospheric city experience awaits. Frome with Nunney castle is also a wonderful historic market town with a wealth of shops, Cafe's and restaurants of a high standard and great atmosphere.

Medeival market towns such as Somerton and Castle Cary with high end shops and cafe's only 10 minute drive away.....

Cheddar famous for its cheddar cheese and caves is 30 minutes drive. 'Street' shoppers heaven is 15 minutes drive with discount High Street stores, Monsoon, Next, Clarks all at factory prices.

Orchards abound, cider, apple juice, apples.

The beauty of the landscape is unprecident, Glastonbury Tor being a central pinacle of ethereal beauty seen for miles around never failing to take our breath away.

Romance, also has it's place with King Arthur and Guinevere still lighting our present from a story now lost in the mists of Avalon.

Somerton where the kings of old were crowned is an idyllic English village with medieval architecture, cafe's restaurants shops antique shops.

Castle Cary also a Medeival market town with London train connection, has London High end shops in Country flavour. The coast is 45 minutes away. Seaton and Bear are wonderful historic ports and coastal harbours, Weymouth also an hour way

London is a 2 hour drive.

We can honestly say we have the best that the West has to offer, central to all amenities, landmarks, shopping and culture, the cosy cottage is a sanctuary within a web of fantastic attractions and days out!

Glastonbury

Barton St David is a picturesque peaceful village, central to Glastonbury, Somerton, Wells and Castle Cary. All these medieval market towns are within 10-15mins drive and boast beautiful boutiques shops quality eating and historique pubs. There is a shop 10 minutes walk away or 2 minutes in car.

Barton St David was the home to the Adams family Presidents of America, they left from England to set up esoteric lighthouses in the new world, There is a plaque in the Barton Church to comemorate them.

It is a 12 minute drive to Glastonbury where you can walk up The Tor (the legendary isle of avalon).

King Arthurs and Guinevere's resting place is said to be at Glastonbury Abbey. The glastonbury zodiac is drawn in the surrounding lanscape and the dove in the centre is at Barton St. David and it's beak is a square which is the message of the dove we are central to the square . Glastonbury festival is 15 minutes drive.

Glastonbury town is full of wonderfu shops, for crystals, ALL religious and spiritual items can be found here and teachings alike.

Glastonbury Chalice well gardens is a peaceful sanctuary of healing waters.

On the other hand!-Clarks shopping village in street offers high street stores at discount prices.

Barton carnival every July (the appitomy of a country community event), with vintage cars, dog shows, family races, cake stores, brick a brack, beer tent, crafts, and live music. We love it!
