At the end of a row of period houses, it is ideally placed for both Kingswear, the quieter and sunnier side of the water with a handful of pubs and restaurants, and Dartmouth, the jewel of the South Hams renowned for its lively harbour, Castle, Royal Naval College and remarkable selection of boutique shops, pubs and gourmet restaurants. The house is full of character with an appealing interior which is stylish, tastefully furnished with comfort and a touch of luxury and takes great advantage of the large windows in nearly all rooms that look across the river. Once the car is parked there is no need to drive again. Catch the foot or car ferry across to Dartmouth, or the Paignton and Dartmouth steam train to Goodrington Sands and the English Riviera, or boat trips to Totnes and Brixham. There are magnificent doorstep walks along the coastal path and sandy coves. The Devon region

Few areas of the UK, or even Europe, have a lure greater than beautiful South Devon. Dramatic Dartmoor gives way to rolling hills, wooded valleys and stunning coastline that never fails to leave visitors wishing they could stay just that little bit longer. While away your days in market towns and quaint villages that retain their tradition whilst now offering fine dining and excellent shopping, or leave the townships behind and head to any one of the outstanding sandy beaches that dot the South Devon coast. It's impossible not to fall in love with lazy, relaxed South Devon and it's otherworldly pace of life.

Rising up out of the river Dart, opposite the historic naval town of Dartmouth, is Kingswear home of the Royal Dart Yacht Club. A castle defends the mouth of the river and the town, a short drive from the attractions of Torbay and Brixham, it boasts its own steam railway, which runs along the River Dart to Paignton. Car and passenger ferries run regularly between Kingswear and Dartmouth. Kingswear has its own pub and shops.
