Overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Oceana is a magnificent four bedroom estate villa on the prime location of Ocean Ridge in the exclusive gated community of Sugar Hill.
Secluded amidst tropical trees and shrubs, including frangipani, bougainvillea, ginger lilies, banana and coconut palms, and approached via a private driveway adjacent to the house, Oceana maximises the benefits of its superb position with the enjoyment of tropical living.
The internal design is stunning, with elegantly curved doors and windows in natural wood reflecting a cloister-like ambience within the coral stone walls. The matching jalousie shutters throughout the house add a further touch of refinement, and provide a cooling sea breeze in the living areas to complement the ceiling fans. There are three bedrooms in the main house, with the fourth in a separate self-contained cottage in the grounds. All bedrooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, walk-in closets and ensuite bathrooms with marble throughout.
The living room opens out onto the expansive covered terrace through two sets of French windows. Beyond is the large pool deck, the gardens and the azure sea. On the right the hall leads to the lower bedroom wing with its own hallway and door for additional privacy and quietness. Across the hall is a twin bedroom, where the beds can also be arranged as a kingsize, with a private patio. At the end of the hallway is the Queen Bedroom Suite, with sitting area, which opens through French windows onto both the pool deck and the covered terrace.
The tower, reminiscent of a medieval bell-tower, is a feature of the house with its high vaulted ceiling and ornate windows. At the top of the stairs you enter the Master Bedroom Suite, with superking size four poster bed and separate dressing room. The ensuite bathroom has a large corner bath tub, a separate shower and twin basins. Running the length of the Master Suite and approached through two sets of French windows is its private veranda, offering truly spectacular westerly views of the Caribbean Sea.
The picturesque, partially open-air dining room looking out towards the sea is an impressive feature of the house, with its own internal garden and cathedral ceiling. The spectacular black granite dining table on carved coral pedestals is complemented by a matching built-in bar, the perfect place for cocktails as you watch the sun set on the sea.
Next to the house is the self-contained, air-conditioned, one bedroom cottage with ensuite bathroom and separate kitchen. This can be configured as twin beds or king size as required.
Guests of Oceana have the use of all the Sugar Hill amenities. These include a clubhouse with large pool, restaurant, fully-equipped, air-conditioned fitness centre and members lounge, as well as the first class David Lloyd tennis facilities. Sugar Hill is a gated community with security guards both at the gate and on patrol 24 hours a day. Guests become members of the Royal Westmoreland Beach Club, and have use of the private facilities and spa at Mullins Bay.

Barbados offers such an abundance of natural beauty, culture and history that the island is called “The Gem of the Caribbean.” Located about 300 miles north of Venezuela and the most Eastern of the Caribbean islands, Barbados portrays a delightful blend of West Indian culture and English Tradition. Independent since 1966, Barbados is the most developed of the Caribbean islands and Bridgetown, the 375-year-old historic capital is its colourful and bustling center of activity. Shopping, excellent dining and a funky nightlife are just a few of the many options available. There is an extensive bus system that is cheap and fast, providing an entertaining way to discover the island.
There are magnificent caves to explore, gorgeous landscapes and tropical gardens to visit, and an abundance of wildlife to see, including the mischievous little “green monkeys” that call Barbados their home. On the South and West coasts, the Caribbean Sea with calm blue waters and endless stretches of fine white sandy beaches invites you to relax, while the Atlantic east coast with cliffs and great waves is ideal for wind and sky surfing.
There is lots to do and the choice is not easy, but whether you enjoy some of the 3,000 hours of annual sunshine or chat with a friendly “Bajan” in one of the numerous little rum shops on the roadsides, make sure to relax in the comfort of your private Rental Butler villa at the end of the day. Take in the breathtaking sunsets, have a delicious local dinner prepared for you or just lean back and dream into the starry skies.
