The property is in a small mountain village 20 minutes' drive from a five mile sandy beach with orange and lemon groves en-route. This is the real Sicily - yet to be overrun with tourists - and you will get the warm welcome that you would expect to come with it!
Bedroom - The house is built on a hill and therefore the ground floor on one side is underground. It is here that we chose to position the bedroom and this means it keeps the room cool during the hot summer days and warm on the cooler nights of autumn and winter. It consists of double bed with all fresh bedding included in the price while a hanging rail and pockets allows you to store all your holiday clothing during your stay.
Dining Room - The dining room is light and airy, positioned on the first floor and open plan to the kitchen area it leads out via French doors to the balcony. It consists of a dining table and six chairs, so plenty of room to invite the neighbours round for dinner!
Kitchen - Installed in October 2011 it consists of four ring gas hob, over and upright fridge / freezer (not in picture) and all pots, pans, plates and cutlery that you will need. There are even a couple of cookbooks to get your taste buds tingling...
Lounge - Consists of sofa-bed, coffee tables and a bookcase with a selection of books for you to read during your stay... Or if you finish the book you brought with you please feel free to swap for one of those in the property (they are well marked). There is also a selection of maps and information on the local attractions. Please leave these for others to use. Please note there is no TV.
Bathroom – Again, freshly installed, it consists - unusually for Sicily - of both bath and shower cubicle, low level WC and sink. Clean towels are provided and included in the price. Please note if you require the use of hairdryer one can be arranged for you please just ask.
Any questions, please feel free to ask.

The South of Sicily has not yet been taken over by the tourist industry, despite the fact that there are some exceptional beaches, incredible historic buildings, breath-taking scenery and fabulous eateries...come and discover it for yourself.
Ereclea Minoa - This beach is about 20 mins drive from the house, it is around 5 miles long, sandy and pretty much empty all year round. The sea gets deep very gradually so is safe for children and there are 3 restaurants right on the sea front. The drive down to the beach should not be ignored either as it is down a winding mountain road, flanked on either side by orange and lemon groves...wind down your window and take in the scent.
Agrigento - Only a half hour away from the house you will find the valley of the temples, an incredible sight especially at sunset. I'm not one for culture and history, but even I was enthralled by the size of these ancient monuments and the incredible views from the top - glad I went to explore...and the lemon sorbet's sold at the side of the entrance are to die for!!
Sciacca - A fishing village with a North African feel to it. Palm trees adorn the square, small side streets hide hidden gems of cafe bars and ceramic vendors, we love the place. Take a walk down to the harbour and you'll find fishermen selling their catch at the side of their boats and restaurants putting the same catch fresh onto a plate for your enjoyment, if you like eating fish then Sciacca is a must visit at about 30 mins from the house.
