Luxury Duplex Apartment - Sleeps 4

This stunning apartment was completed in June 2011 and boasts luxury amenities and spectacular, panoramic sea views of Güllük. The duplex apartment is ideal for couples and families, and has all the mod cons; free Wi-Fi, air-con, flat screen tv, dishwasher, washing machine, etc.

It is situated on a complex with it's own private beach and jetty, seven swimming pools, several children's pools, a sauna, a steam room and several jacuzzi's. There is also a swimming pool directly in front of the apartment, so you can have a quick dip or keep an eye on the children.

There are other local beaches you can try including Tepekoy and Jasmine beach, which is 5 mins away (Concierge will shuttle you down there for free) which is one of my favourites. The apartment is in a very peaceful and tranquil location, but you are not far away from a trip to the castle town of Bodrum, the dolphin park, watersports (Gulluk) or the fantastic water park. The complimentary resort boat takes you across the bay to Güllük (25mins,) where you can catch a Dölmüs (local bus) all over the Bodrum peninsula.

In the evenings you can either chill out on the balcony with a glass of wine taking in the breathe taking views, or take the complimentary boat across the bay to Güllük, where there are a vast range of bars and restaurants to try including the Anchor bar with live music and Fuegos for some alfresco dining.

On another note and just to let you know, there are no bar/restaurant or beach bar facilities at the moment.

On a good note the resort boat is running to a regular timetable to take you across the bay, to the small fishing village of Gulluk. Here you will find a vast range of bars, restaurants and shops. There is also a small shop at the resort entrance to stock up on your basics.

*****About the owner*****

I first visited Turkey 16 years ago for a holiday and I fell in love with the Bodrum Peninsula. I have family that have moved out there and I have been visiting year on year ever since. I love the guaranteed hot weather, local cuisine (meze, fresh seafood etc) and the very warm hospitable locals who will always make you feel welcome.

I bought this fantastic apartment for me and my family to enjoy, and also as an investment to rent out to allow others to enjoy what this lovely country has to offer. I have only just started advertising this apartment for rental, hence the very low introductory rates, so please don't be put off. Please do contact me if you have any questions.

Further details outdoors

The complex currently provides an extensive array of sophisticated lifestyle facilities, including its own private beach, jetty, seven swimming pools, one which features a stunning waterfall, several children's pools, several jacuzzis, a sauna and a steam room. The resort also has 24 hour security.

The resort also has a children's soft play area, allowing the parents to relax whilst the children enjoy themselves too. A short walk off the resort near the entrance, will take you to a locally owned fruit and vegetable stall and also a mini supermarket offering freshly baked bread etc.

Alternatively, take the free resort boat across to Güllük for an array of restaurants serving locally caught seafood and traditional cuisine.

The resort is surrounded by beautiful landscaped botanic gardens, featuring many types of exotic plants, trees and shrubs which together, amid pretty walkways, waterfalls and fountains, will combine to ensure a tranquil, harmonious setting.

Horizon Sky is a five star resort. It was the winner of the best developent in Turkey 2010 with both OPP and Bloomberg. The construction started five years ago and phases one and two are now complete with two more phases to go on this development. There is no construction work that takes place during the summer period, however, some facilities are still in the process of being constructed and this is reflected in the rental price.

The five star resort when fully completed, will have an American style clubhouse including a rooftop restaurant, sports bar, a heated indoor and outdoor pool, mini golf, gym, beach bar and the list goes on. Landscaping has already taken place for the tennis courts and multisport courts.

The recreational pursuits are virtually endless, and whether you choose to play a game of tennis or to simply soak up the rays on the sun deck promenade, you'll never be far from a cool dip in one of the private pools or the bay itself.

How to get there

Turkey is currently seeing a large boom in its tourism industry and many flight companies are offering new low cost flights from various airports in the UK to International Bodrum Airport.

Once at Bodrum Airport there are two ways of getting to the Horizon Sky Beach resort, depending on when your flight arrives.

By Boat

The nicest way to arrive at Horizon Sky is via the free resort boat. This involves getting a taxi from the airport to Gulluk marina which should take around 15mins and cost 45TL (about £16). Once you have boarded the boat from the quayside, you will be taken across the bay to the resort jetty where you will be greeted and escorted to the apartment.

By Road

If your flight arrives outside of the boat timetable hours or you would simply like to be taken straight from the airport to the resort without any waiting around then road transfers take approx 50 mins.

This company offer a good service and you can book online: bodrumtransfers

Select to travel from 'Bodrum Airport (BJV)' to 'Iasos (Kiyikislacik)' Our recommendation is to use Bodrum Transfers.

The Turkish Aegean Coast region

Horizon Sky Beach Resort is situated in the beautiful and historically protected area of 'Iasos' (pronounced ee-ya-sos) a region of Bodrum in the gulf of Gulluk. Iasos was formerly an island and boasts thousands of years of history. The present village dates from 1929 and is famous for its olive groves and cheap and abundant fish, like in ancient days.

Whilst the area is popular with holiday makers, Iasos remains astonishingly peaceful and tranquil and offers unrivalled walks back through the history of this naturally preserved harbour.

The Mediterranean climate of Bodrum enjoys mild winters and warm summer weather, with highs of more than 34°C / 93°F in July and August.

The coastal breezes in July and August keep the evenings comfortable.

Excavations of Iasos by a team of Italian archaeologists have revealed that the earliest settlement dates back to the Early Bronze Age. Many artifacts and sculptures can be seen in Izmir, Milas and Bodrum museums.

As well as three temples of Zeus Megistos, Apollo and Artemis. There are numerous Roman buildings, including an agora, theatre aqueducts, cisterns, gymnasium, baths and a bouleuterion.

In the sea is an ancient harbour wall and watch towers. One of the two watch towers or lighthouses has been restored and can be reached by walking along the stones of the harbour wall that rises above the sea's surface.

Located just 10 minutes from International Bodrum Airport, Güllük is an unspoilt fishing village boasting many fine promenade restaurants, bars, al fresco eateries, local stores and markets. Arriving at the harbour, there are a couple of local shops for basics, but for a more substantial and sometimes cheaper shop, head to Migros located just five minutes’ walk from the Harbour. This a great store for stocking up on local beer, wine and fridge essentials. There is also a lovely fruit and veg stall just at the entrance to the Horizon Sky Resort (5min walk), and also a local shop selling warm fresh bread.

The resort runs a regular complimentary boat service between Horizon Sky and Güllük so it is very easy to enjoy a day shopping or an evening out here.

There are cashpoints available just by the square and a short walk through an archway will take you to the dölmüs stop. From here you can quickly access local towns, Bodrum or Milas.

There are also a multitude of local attractions including the beach, watersports, pleasure boat trips and glorious sunsets.

There is even a dolphin park where you can swim with dolphins about 20 minutes drive away and a fantastic aquapark reached by dölmüs from Güllük.

Historically, Gulluk, formerly known as Kulluk prior to 1933, was an import export harbour for the Greeks trading during the Ottoman Empire period. The store buildings and warehouses are today restaurants serving locally caught sea bass and bream.

Your holiday to Turkey wouldn’t be complete without a day or evening spent in the enchanting town of Bodrum.

The town's charm is well-known, attracting a diverse population of vacationers who stroll along its long palm-lined waterfront, while elegant yachts crowd the marina. The evenings in Bodrum are for sitting idly in one of the many restaurants, afterwards night clubs (some with live music) and, of course, some of the best discos in Europe keep you going until dawn.

Shopping is delightful in Bodrum. Leather goods of all kinds, natural sponges and the local blue glass beads are among the bargains to be found in the friendly little shops along the narrow, white-walled streets. Charming boutiques offer kilims, carpets, sandals and embroidery as well as original fashions.

Situated on a beautiful peninsula, Bodrum, known in ancient times as Halicarnassus, was the birthplace of Heredotus and the site of King Mausolus' Tomb, the Mausoleum (4th century B.C.), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

In the harbour, the Bodrum Castle, or the medieval castle of St. Peter, is a fine example of 15th-century crusader architecture, and has been converted into the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, with remains dating as far back as the Bronze Age.
