The County Antrim region

The County of Antrim stretches from Belfast westwards along the rugged coastline through the glens of Antrim, past the Giants Causeway and the many beautiful beaches around Portrush and Portstewart. To the South it takes in the lush farming country around Ballymoney and Ballymena and along the shores of Lough Neagh to Antrim. We enjoy a temperate climate with lots of soft Irish rain to keep our landscape green. The whole area is steeped in a turbulent history as bourne out by the ruins of Dunluce Castle on the high cliffs of the north coast to the Castle at Antrim town.

Portrush

Portrush is the most popular tourist town in Northern Ireland and is centrally situated on the beautiful Causeway Coastal Route from Belfast to Londonderry. It has a number of excellent restaurants and bars offering good food and entertainment and in addition has several amusement arcades and nightclubs. The area of course is known worldwide by motorbike enthusiasts for the NW200 road racing festival in May and this year our fantastic golfing heritage has been recognised by Royal Portrush Golf Club hosting the Irish Open Golf Competition. In addition our neighbours in Londonderry/Derry have been chosen as the 'City Of Culture' in 2013 and this will be celebrated by numerous festivals and events throughout the year
