Dogs are welcome! There's a patch of ground just outside the complex for the 'last thing at night outing'.
The pools, which are within the gated community, are a few seconds' walk from the front of the house in the beautiful community garden. You simply go straight out of the house and walk a few seconds' around the corner. There are usually sun beds available near the pools. If not, there are many reasonably priced outlets nearby for anything you need to enjoy pools and beach.
There is no need for a car. Everything's close, ie. within a 3-5 minute walk - pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, hairdressers and spas, stores including a pets store. The location of this property is fantastic. It's close enough for you to go out to places quickly and easily without needing a taxi home afterwards, but not close enough to be disturbed by any noise.
The new 'Zenia Boulevard' opened in Sept 2012. This is the largest shopping mall in the province of Alicante. You can stroll up there from the back of the house in 5 minutes. It's a open, 'shopping town' with many restaurants, colourful play area for children, mutli- coloured mini water fountains and occasional free open air entertainment.
If you want to play golf however there are over ten different golf courses all within a 30 minute drive (pardon the pun). The closest is Villamartin which would be about 5 minutes' drive.
Smokers: please be advised to seek another property, as this is a strictly non-smoking property. I only rent to non-smokers.

It's a non-smoking two bedroom house - upstairs there are a master bedroom (with balcony) with one double bed, and another bedroom with two single beds.
While the house is best suited to groups of four, please note that there is a comfortable sofa bed downstairs for a fifth person.
There is a large dining table that seats 6.
The bathroom upstairs is equipped with bath, bidet and shower. Items such as bathroom scales and hairdryer have also been provided for your convenience.
The bathroom downstairs is a 1/2 bathroom, i.e. has a washbasin and WC.
The TV provided is currently only for watching DVDs. If you're a sports fan, there are many bars all around, showing sports events.
Note, if you bring a laptop, free wireless high speed Internet (WiFi) is available at the house, so you can watch uploads of TV programs that are available on Youtube, and listen to sports radio, the BBC news on the BBC website, etc as your tastes dictate.
It is possible to plug the Ethernet cable directly into your computer if you wish to be online upstairs in the master bedroom, if you would like to use the Internet wirelessly from anywhere in the house. The password will be in the information letter emailed to you before you visit.
There is a new halogen oven. It's easy and quick to use and to clean (it is self-cleaning - you only need to put soapy water in it and switch it on). The instruction booklet is inside it for use with various foods.
There is a clothes airer which is placed outside in the patio at the back of the house. There are no tumbledryers at these houses.
There is an airconditioning unit downstairs and ceiling fans upstairs.

NOTES ABOUT THE PROPERTY
The house is within a secure gated community where there are few permanent residents as well as holidaymakers. For that reason, we ask for quiet after midnight and before 8am please.
Please note that a collection of DVDs has been provided for your use during your holiday, along with a variety of novels.

There is free WiFi (wireless Internet) provided, so if you bring a laptop, you can watch favourite shows on Youtube or listen to newscasts or sportscasts on the Internet, as applicable. Please see above, for notes about how to use the Internet.
While children are welcome and La Zenia is an excellent location for family holidays, please note that there isn't any equipment specifically for babies at the house - e.g. no high chair, or crib, etc.
***There is NO SMOKING in or around my house. This includes the garden, patio and balcony. Smoking anywhere on the property will result in the security deposit not being returned to you. I only rent to non-smokers. This has been made clear in the ad since it was first placed on this site Spring 2013.

La Zenia is located on the Costa Blanca, just south of the town of Torrevieja and about 40 minutes' drive down the coast from Alicante. It is a great location for a beach holiday. It has everything for a great family holiday in the sun.
La Zenia is a small but busy beach resort. La Zenia's major attraction is its beaches which are set in coves but with the most wonderful sand and shallow waters ideal for families or anyone who just love to wade through and swim in clear, warm waters. Personally, my favourite attraction is the coastal path. Many runners and fitness-lovers walk, run or jog along the path to Cabo Roig.
There are many restaurants, bars, shops and good facilities due to the number of people who live here all the year round. There are many Irish bars including Paddy's Point and Gogarty's in the centre of the town. There are a lot of bars with TVs showing Sky Sports. Many cafes and restaurants offer all-day English breakfasts and sumptuous roast dinners on Sundays. Eating out is low cost.
Close to the house (about five minutes' walk) is a German pub that is very popular too. (You can't miss it - it has a giant glass of beer on its roof!)
There's a market on a Saturday along the same road from Zenia Boulevard where you can get lovely fresh oranges, strawberries, vegetables for salads and other locally grown produce. If you have a sweet tooth, the first stall has fresh baked goods.
In September 2012, the new commercial centre, 'Zenia Boulevard' opened.
It's very close to the house - literally just a few minutes' walk from the back of the house.
You can see it easily from the kitchen window of the house. It has many stores, restaurants and a children's play area. Occasionally there are free shows - dance, acrobatics, lights, and the like. There are lots of seats where you can relax and watch them without being in a restaurant or cafe, or you can sit and relax, watching the water fountains sparkling in the sun.
Zenia Boulevard is the largest mall in the province of Alicante. It is designed as 'a shopping town' and has more than 160,000 square meters of total floor area, 5,000 free parking spaces. It is open and supposed to be like an authentic Mediterranean city, with streets and squares where every day. Customers enjoy performances and free events there.
Children enjoy the playground 'Zenia Kids'.
A car isn't necessary for living at my house, however I will mention, for those of you renting cars, that the road access to La Zenia is very good. The AP-7 autoroute (motorway) comes down from Alicante airport and goes south to Murcia San Javier airport.
Also the N-332 goes directly through La Zenia and this also goes from Alicante airport in the north all the way down to Murcia San Javier airport to the south.
To the south of La Zenia is Cabo Roig, further south is Campoamor, Pilar de la Horadada, San Pedro del Pinatar and La Manga.
To the north of La Zenia is Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima, Residencia Los Altos and then Torrevieja.
La Zenia is a popular place where many people live all the whole year round, hence the all-encompassing amenities.
There is a water park ten minutes' approx drive from La Zenia, in Torrevieja. You can go diving with the local dive companies.
Golfing is popular. There are 10 or more golf courses within a 45 minute drive from the house.
