Part of Barn Cottages at Lacock, three adjacent cottages each sleeping four, Chestnut Cottage has a tiled, open plan kitchen, living and dining area with exposed oak beams giving a light and airy feel. A glazed end wall gives the cottagea real wow factor. Two sets of French doors open out on to small patio areas with garden furniture, a barbecue and a garden view.

The Shaker style kitchen is well equipped and has an electric cooker with oven, dishwasher and microwave.

The double bedroom downstairs has plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and the downstairs shower room has a wash basin and WC. Stairs lead to a mezzanine galleried twin-bedded room with a wooden floor.

There is a separate utility room containing a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer . All heating ,electricity and hot water is included in the tariff as is all bed linen, towels and tea-towels. WiFi is available

If you enjoy quaint old villages steeped in history that have been used for TV and films then Lacock and Castle Combe are for you. If you enjoy exploring attractive market towns then look no further than Corsham,Bradford on Avon, Devizes and Malmesbury, all within twenty minutes of us.

We are within easy reach of three World Heritage Sites; the beautiful Roman and Georgian City of Bath, Stonehenge and Avebury. When you have exhausted these why not visit some of the many nearby National Trust properties, Stourhead, Dyrham Park , Lacock Abbey and Tyntesfield.

No family visit is complete without a visit to Longleat Safari park or Bowood House with its adventure playground that the kids will love.Maple has books of local walks so you can explore the local countryside and we also hire bikes and advise on local cycling routes. Bath is packed with museums,galleries and excellent restaurants. It is also a retail paradise! For those who like to explore a little further Oxford, Salisbury, Wells and the Cotswolds are easy day visits from here and some of our guests go to London as the train station is only ten minutes away with direct trains (hour and a quarter ) to the city.

Lacock

The National Trust Village of Lacock is virtually unchanged in the last 200 years. Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice and Cranfield have been filmed here. Wander around the beautiful village and Abbey, visit the Fox Talbot Museum of Photography which its fascinating exhibitions and indulge yourself at the excellent pubs, restaurant or National Trust tea rooms.

Our local town of Corsham has all the usual local amenities but boasts an interesting High Street and The Pound Arts Centre which hosts plays, music, dance and comedy including some household names. You can get the bus here into Bath or visit a Historic house, Corsham Court or walk in the parkland by the lake.

There is a superstore within two miles of the cottage for all the necessaries and the nearest station is in Chippenham about ten minutes away with trains to Bath, Bristol or London
