Beaumont holiday cottage is located on the outskirts of Teyjat in the Perigord Vert National Park in the North of the Dordogne close to the border with the departments of Charente and Limousin. It is a beautiful land of ancient woods and lakes with villages and towns dating back to the middle ages. The area, designated as the perigord Limousin Natural Regional Park, is a paradise for those who love the countryside, teeming with wildlife such as wild boar, deer and trout, and is ideal for those seeking a tranquil holiday with a huge range of leisure activities.
Interested in Go Karting? Fun for all the family...part of the regional professional circuit with a range of karts for all ages over 5! There is a bar/clubhouse with panoramic views of the circuit. Watch the racing from the terrace. 5 min walk.
Also the Grotte de la Mairie at Teyjat which has some excellent prehistoric paintings and is well worth a visit.
Slightly further afield is the picturesque village and chateau at Varaignes.
Javerlhac-et-la-Chapelle-Saint-Robert is on the doorstep, 5 mins drive and provides all the local shopping and many attractions.
Brantome is an attractive town near the northern edge of the Dordogne department, sometimes known as the Venice of the Dordogne- the town has a nice mix of medieval and renaissance architecture to admire. The town is classed as one of 'les Plus Beaux Detours' in France. It is situated on the river Dronne.
Canoes can be hired for a relaxing trip along the river or for the more adventurous the 12km chateaux circuit.
