Carving a pathway deep through the North York Moors is the famous North Yorkshire Moors steam railway, which carries passengers from Pickering in the south, north to Grosmont and then along the lovely Esk Valley to Whitby on the coast. This area handy for those who want to experience the many aspects that Yorkshire has to offer with easy access to both the Yorkshire Coast and Yorkshire Dales.

Stokesley

It is nestled in the quiet picturesque village of Great Broughton, on the edge of the North York Moors. Great Broughton itself has quite a few public houses serving excellent home cooked meals. The historic market town of Stokesley is only a couple of miles away with its distinguished wide cobbled streets lined with many shops, pubs and restaurants and many interesting Georgian and Victorian buildings. The area is perfect for keen ramblers and cyclists as it overlooks Cringle Moor and the famous Wainstones on the Cleveland Way. Other spectacular walks can be found close by at Roseberry Topping, Kildale (Captain Cook's Monument) and Carlton Bank. The area is surrounded by stunning scenery and a short drive away will take you to the beautiful Yorkshire Coast.
