in the village of Boxgrove.

The cottage which was sympathetically extended and refurbished eight years ago, has two double and one twin bedrooms, the master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and there is a separate shower room upstairs. Downstairs comprises a large family room with direct access to the garden, a sitting room with a traditional open fire, a well appointed kitchen with a dual fuel lacanche oven, a utility room, a separate downstairs wc and a cloakroom.

A sofabed is available downstairs.

Thatch Cottage has a large garden and is superbly located directly opposite the historic 12 century Boxgrove Priory, generally considered to be the finest example of the early English Style of church architecture in Sussex.

The cottage lies at the end of a quiet cul de sac but is only 150 yards from the village shop.

Goodwood which is renowned worldwide for its horse racing and very popular racing car festivals is also very close. The Festival of Speed at Goodwood house is only 1.4 miles away, the Goodwood Revival event at the racing circuit is 2.7 miles away and the horse racing is only 5 miles away.

The owners of Thatch Cottage have also teamed up with the Goodwood Park Hotel to offer temporary membership of the Goodwood Health Club at specially discounted rates, the health club offers truly luxurious facilities .

The thriving cathedral city of Chichester with its popular theatre and many restaurants is only 5 miles distant.

Thatch Cottage is also close to a number of excellent pay and play golf courses, Goodwood is only a mile or so away, Chichester Golf Course is about 5 miles distant as is Avisford Park.

The Angelsey Arms is an excellent pub about half a mile away, i.e. within walking distance. Serving fantastic food and great beer in addition to having an extensive wine cellar. There are also numerous very good pubs within a few miles

The owner may require access to the studio at the bottom of the garden at certain times via the garden path. If this is unacceptable please notify asap.

Note. During the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 11th-14th 2013) the minimum stay will be 4 nights at a cost of £1950. The rate for a 7 night stay will be £2300.

The South East England region

Diverse landscapes from the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park to the lovely unspoilt sandy beach at West Wittering.

History in this area and it offers many fabulous places to visit such as Chichester, with its Roman connections, Arundel, Petworth and Midhurst. Further afield, Portsmouth and Brighton are within an hours drive and London is only 60miles away.

Chichester

Within walking distance of Thatch Cottage is the Goodwood Estate, home of Lord and Lady March. Internationally renowned for its horse racing and motor sport, the famous Festival of Speed and The Revival meeting are not to be missed. Goodwood House is open to the public throughout the year as is the beautiful Sculpture Park. Golf is available at the Goodwood Park hotel for non hotel guests.

4 miles away lies the historic walled city of Chichester famous for its Norman cathedral and Roman connections. Chichester offers fabulous shopping, restaurants and of course the Chichester Festival Theatre which attracts many of the worlds top actors to its stage.

A 10 minute drive will take you to the charming town of Arundel situated on the river Arun. With its impressive castle, numerous art, antique and tea shops plus boat trips, Arundel is the perfect day out for all ages.

There are excellent sailing and watersports facilities on the nearby coast at Bosham and Itchenor and the non-commercial sandy beach and sand dunes at West Wittering are beautiful.

The fascinating Roman Palace at Fishbourne is a15 minute drive away. It houses the largest insitu collection of mosaic floor in Britain. The Weald and Down Open Air museum at Singleton is like stepping back in time, with its large collection of traditional rural buildings which have been saved from destruction and relocated to the museums picturesque site.
