Antibes is lovely at any time of the year. In the summer it's a lot about the beach and the sea or the pool and dining outdoors. But there is also so much to see locally. Just in the town itself there is the Picasso Museum and the Archaeological Museum which is right in the old Roman walls. If you are into culture there is a wealth of art galleries and museums around the area. There are gorgeous little villages perched on top of steep cliffs. There are botanical gardens, open air music concerts, Marineland and horse racing. Then there are the casinos of Monaco, the pasta in Italy, the glamour of St Tropez - all within easy reach. The ski slopes in winter and alpine pastures in summer - it is all nearby. Local transport if you dont have a car is excellent.
The beach itself is lovely with a gently sloping shelf. There are showers on the beach and little snack bars selling sandwiches, salads, ice creams, coffee and great french fries ! There is also an excellent sailing school right by the beach and a little harbour at the other end of the sandy plage. There s an excellent restaurant opposite the beach and a shop selling all you need for the beach from suntan cream to swimmng gear. It is a short stroll to the local shops for the daily baguette or fruit and vegetables and the odd bottle of rose. The daily market is about 10 mins walk and the town has a huge choice of shops, restaurants and bars. The Picasso Museum is nearby and has recently been renovated and well worth a visit. There is a shuttle bus from the beach to the centre of town if you are feeling lazy
