The East Anglia region

The Norfolk Broads is one of Britain’s National Parks; being the largest protected area of wetland amidst this area of outstanding natural beauty. The Broads are visited by over seven million people per year and there really is no shortage of things to see and do in this area.

Below is just a quick summary of some of the places to visit but you’ll find a whole host of ideas in our Stores Cottage ‘Out and About’ suggestion book.

Around 10 minutes away is Wroxham, a hub of the Norfolk broads. From here you can try your hand at boating down the gorgeous broads, mooring up and popping into the local pubs at Horning and Salhouse or do some bargain hunting at Roys department store.

If history, retail therapy and lovely restaurants are your thing then Norwich is well worth a visit. Norwich is 18 miles from Ludham and is a gorgeous city for a day out. From taking a look at the stunning cathedral to visiting the Chapelfields shopping centre as well as many individual boutique shops in the Norwich Lanes.

In under an hour you can take in the stunning North Norfolk coastline from Sheringham, Wells, Blakeney, Brancaster, Holcombe and market village such as Burnham Market and Holt.

Wroxham

Our cottage is based in the beautiful Broads village of Ludham which has many of its own facilities for you to benefit from.

From an impressive local store ‘Throwers’ with its own yummy deli and post office, the Kings Arms pub and restaurant (just yards away from the cottage), Al Fresco's tea rooms, florist, hairdressers, petrol station (where they even assist you with filling up the petrol tank!), butchers, church, doctors, plus our own budding mini Monet, 9 year old Keiron Williamson … the list goes on. Plus it also has its own staithe and boating quay so you can watch the boats come and go at your leisure.
