Guests are welcome to explore the farm (Soil Association registered) with its rare breeds, free range chickens, vegetable garden and acres of broadleaf woodland planted with 3000 English trees. Run according to conservation and ecological principles, the farm is a participant in the RSPB Farmers' Alliance and a dedicated sanctuary and conservation area for rare birds and other wildlife.

Barn Cottage has two entrances with large granite steps and off-road parking for two vehicles.

The property features large larch and oak timbers and steel tensioned roof structures, an open-plan kitchen and dining room (8m x 4m) with all new appliances (ceramic hob, cooker, hood, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer). The lounge area has a large sofa, armchairs and large futon. There are separate feature pine staircases leading to each of the upstairs bedrooms – one twin, one double. Each bedroom has bedside tables with lamps, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Downstairs is a twin bedroom with its own hallway entrance and shower room.

Furniture throughout is of very high quality with solid wood items including handcrafted oak tables and mahogany chests. The main bathroom features a handmade stained glass window. Heating is provided by three radiators and two wood burning stoves with complimentary basket of wood. Extra wood is available for purchase, as are organic eggs and vegetables.

The owners are artists and goldsmiths. Guests may visit their workshops by arrangement and free of charge. Tuition classes are available by prior arrangement. Half day courses in organic vegetable growing are also available to guests as are yoga classes (either single classes or a series as part of a health retreat feature during your holiday.)

The West Country region

There's so much to do, see and explore in Cornwall. With the longest stretch of continuous coastline in Britain, you’ll discover tiny fishing villages, smuggler’s coves, countless spectacular beaches and sweeping bays, dramatic cliffs and coastlines, plus beautiful moorland and countryside. Perfect for surfers, walkers, bird watchers, honeymooners & families alike!

Cadgwith

The Lizard Peninsula, England's most southerly point is a secret back water - almost an island, girded on three sides by the sea and the fourth by the meandering waters of the Helford river, only a tiny land bridge connecting us to the rest of Cornwall. Whatever your taste or choice for relaxation we have everything for you to explore from golden beaches to pebbly coves, dramatic cliff tops to still rivers and creeks full of bird life. Freshwater lakes, open heathland, fabulously hued Serpentine rock outcrops and gardens full of sub-tropical plants warmed by the Gulf Stream.

We are only a few miles from the most southerly point at The Lizard. And a 40 minute drive to the most Westerly point at Land's End and the Minnack Theatre.

The famous beaches of Kynance Cove and the fishing village at Cadgwith are only a couple of miles away, as well as big sandy beaches accessible by road at Poldhu and Kennack Sands. In the summer months we can point you toward the dog friendly beaches if you like too!

The traditional 'Furry Dance' takes place just 8 miles away in Helston on Flora Day on May 8th every year.

Add to this an amazing choice of restaurants and pubs serving beautifully fresh fish and other local produce, an eclectic selection of artists and craftspeople and every activity from surfing to sailing, hiking to horse-riding and all in a quieter setting than you ever thought possible in Cornwall.

For those who like theme parks we are close to Flambards which also has a great One2Eleven indoor play area for those rainy days if you don't fancy a wet windy walk along the cliffs!
