Villa Hestia sleeps 2-6 guests with 1 double and 2 twin bedded rooms - each with their own private en suite and spacious, walk in showers. The layout and design ensures that it is ideal for larger groups but not overwhelming for smaller ones of perhaps 2 or 4 guests.
Private but with its own direct access onto the quiet, tarmac beach road, the villa stands in the most commanding position so as to take the best advantage of the spectacular, panoramic and wholly uninterrupted views, which can be enjoyed from everywhere on the property.
These uninterrupted views encompass the long beach of Aghia Kiriaki directly below the villa, (a mix of sand and shingle) which lies within the bay of Myrtos, across to Assos and Lefkada in the distance, together with the green pastures of Zola and across the valley to the mountains with their ever changing colours.
All of the living and bedrooms face the front of the villa so that the spectacular views can be enjoyed from both inside and out.
The walled and gated property has a private driveway, with parking for 3 cars, which leads to the front door and entrance to the stylish living and dining area. The living area has comfortable sofas and chairs, an L shaped, marble, open fireplace, a wall-mounted Satellite TV and DVD, CD and video player. There is also a selection of over 100 books, games to play and CD's, DVD's and videos to suit all ages and tastes. Extensive guest information books give details of where to go and where to eat, what to do, telephone numbers and history of the island.
To one end of the living room is the dining area with extending table and chairs for 6 guests.
The modern kitchen is extensively equipped with all that guests would expect from their own kitchen and more. All cookware, crockery etc. is generously provided for more than 6 guests.
The uninterrupted views can be enjoyed from both the lounge and dining area.
Two sets of double, glass doors lead out from the lounge and dining area on to the front terrace, which has a large wooden table with comfortable chairs for 6 guests.
The 8 x 4 metre pool has broad Roman steps at the shallow end, ideal for children, a ladder at the deep and is floodlit at night.
The extensive patio and lounging areas surround the pool and there is a large brick built BBQ for al fresco dining.
The patio and BBQ areas have ambient lighting so that the areas can be fully enjoyed after dark.
Next to the BBQ, and under the shade of a Mulberry tree, is an L shaped stone seating arrangement with comfortable cushions, where guests can either dine or lounge out on to perhaps snooze, read or just take in the panoramic views.
6 loungers with cushions, sun filter parasols, small poolside tables and chairs surround the pool and all are of a high quality to ensure maximum comfort.
The established garden is enjoyed and commented on by many of our guests. Olive, palm, fruit and mulberry trees provide shade and the garden is filled with hibiscus, bougainvillea, oleander and Mediterranean flowers. There are herbs growing in the garden for the use of guests.
A large rear patio with grape vine-clad pergola for shade is surrounded by a wall covered in, amongst others, scented jasmine and a border of colourful plants. There is another large wooden table and chairs within this area, which is softly lit after dark.
Apart from the garden all the other areas are either tiled or paved for comfort and ease of access.
Also on the ground floor is a twin bedded room, with private en suite, which has a pair of glass, double doors opening directly onto the terrace and views.
Upstairs is a further twin bedded room, similar to that on the ground floor, which also has its own private en suite. A pair of glass, double doors open directly onto the balcony and encompassing views.
The master bedroom is 19ft wide and has a king sized bed and its own private en suite. Two pairs of double, glass doors lead directly onto the balcony and again encompass the views.
On the balcony is a large marble table and 6 chairs, perfect for watching the mountains change colour across the bay as the sun goes down.
All of the en suites have large walk in showers. They are of a good size with generous shelving, cabinet storage and ample towel rails and shaver sockets. All of the bedrooms have generous storage and a hair dryer in each room.
Zola is a small village involved with agriculture and fishing. It has 2 beaches - a combination of fine shingle and sand. The working harbour has the renowned Fish Taverna, which almost drops into the water. There are 2 cantinas alongside the beach.
There are 2 other tavernas within the village and 3/4 on the opposite side of the bay within a 7 min drive, where there is also a mini-market and petrol station.
Zola's quiet environs are perfect for walking, exploring or relaxing and the locals extend a warm welcome.
Hestia is the Greek Goddess of the home – “A place where all the cares of the world can be set aside and the soul restored”. Hence, the natural choice of name for our home.
Villa Hestia is Ideal for groups of friends, romantic couples and families with children of all ages, seeking a peaceful environment but with all the major towns and attractions within easy reach.

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands, but among the least and last to be commercialised. The coastline offers mile after mile of sandy beaches and unspoilt rural areas just waiting to be explored.
Blessed with high winter rainfall, it is also the greenest. The weather consists of rainy winters and dry, hot summers. With higher winter rainfall, Kefalonia boasts verdant plains, forests and hillsides dotted with grazing mountain goats. The National park of Mount Ainos has the unique Kefalonian pine trees and wild ponies.
Great food is certainly a feature of Kefalonia. Feta cheeses from goats and ewes milk, olives and fresh fish from the ports at Sami, Poros, Argostoli and Fiskardo are among the island's specialities. Having spent many years under the rule of the Venetians, the island’s food and customs reflect Italian rather than Turkish influences.
The famous Loggerhead turtles are a regular sight and can usually be seen up close in the harbour of Argostoli when the fishing boats arrive in the morning to sell their catch.
A holiday on Kefalonia offers a truly different Greek island experience. Rugged, mountainous but blessed with some of the best beaches in the Ionian, Kefalonia has a grandeur that is unequalled by any of the other islands.
Fortunately, for those looking for a more peaceful and relaxing holiday, Kefalonia has resisted the sort of tourism that has overrun some islands. Following the publication of the novel in 1994 of “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” and subsequent film, visitor numbers rose on the island but a great virtue of its size is that has comfortably absorbed them.
With its beautiful sandy beaches and small seaside resorts, impressive mountainous landscapes, beautiful forests and friendly, welcoming locals, a holiday in Kefalonia offers a beguiling, peaceful ambience, which makes a welcome change from some of the larger, more commercialised resorts on other Greek islands.
Zola is often referred to as Kefalonia’s best kept secret. On approach, the first sight of the area is the panoramic view of the little village tucked into the hillside, the mountains across the valley and the unique blue of the Bay of Myrtos stretching out ahead and into the Ionian Sea and infinity.
Whilst Zola appears sleepy there is a lot of quiet activity from the locals who earn their living from either tending the land, fishing from the small working harbour, or via the limited and discreet properties for tourist rental.
Our guests constantly remark that it is hard to do anything but laze and absorb the views but the little trails through the village allotments, olive and almond groves, around and beyond the village, offer great scope for quiet exploration.
There are two beaches – the long stretch of Aghia Kiriaki at the bottom of the tarmac beach road (3 minutes by car) or Vouti; steep on the way back up but it’s worth it. Both are a mix of fine shingle and sand. Another exquisite, white pebbled beach is easily reached by a 15 minute trip in a self-drive, hired boat from the harbour. (Instructions are given beforehand). The hire boats are also ideal for exploring the diverse coastline.
The harbour boasts the oft written about Fish Taverna, which almost falls into the sea. There is also a local taverna within the village square, with freshly cooked food, (meat and veg usually from the village when in season,) where guests will receive a warm welcome.
There are also 2 small cantinas on Aghia Kiriaki beach and 3 or 4 more tavernas a 5 minute drive away on the opposite side of the valley.
The exquisite Venetian village of Assos with its fortress is 25 minutes away and a 40 minute drive further north brings you to the Jet Setting port of Fiskardo with typical Venetian buildings and array of luxury yachts.
20 minutes away to the east is the lovely port of Aghia Efimia and 10 minutes further the port of Sami, both of which boast a vast choice of tavernas.
Lixouri is 15 minutes by car and the island’s Capital of Argostoli, (with its fresh fish, fruit and veg markets and mouth watering cake shops) is 35 minutes max.
