This farmhouse is surrounded by farmland and offers a relaxing and peaceful holiday for those who want to get away from it all and enjoy the countryside. The air is clear, and as there is no pollution, it is a perfect area to see the night sky and stargaze. The property is situated on the edge of a Hamlet (with café). The nearest village is a 5 minute drive away (great Boulangerie), and the nearest town is just ten minutes drive for supermarkets, Hospital, Vet, and weekly market. A fishing lake is nearby.

The Farmhouse has 3 lounges, one of which is used as a games room with snooker table and french doors leading out to the garden where table and chairs and the bbq area overlook the fields. The other 2 lounges have oak beams, comfortable sofas and satellite tv with English channels. Downstairs is a large bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle. The kitchen is rustic and has a table and 6 chairs, a gas cooker and oven, and a fridge-freezer. There is a washing machine. A further dining area is outside in the kitchen garden for breakfast and lunch in the sunshine.

Upstairs the master bedroom has a king-size bed and oak beams. The very large middle bedroom has 2 double beds, a sofa bed, 2 single beds, while the 3rd bedroom has a double and a single bed.

The back garden is fenced and there is a washing line. There are plenty of chairs to sit out in and relax and enjoy the views.

The Pays de la Loire region

Mayenne is 30 min drive along the N12 or by the pretty back roads via Jublains an old Roman town which has an interesting museum and Roman remains. Mayenne has a lovely Chateau which has recently been restored and well worth visiting, also boat trips down the Mayenne River. The Tourist Board is next to the river in the centre of Mayenne and has details of activities in the area and a map of the cyclepaths along the river. There are some nice restaurants in Mayenne including a Creperie, a Chinese Restaurant and bars and Cafes, and individual shops.

Laval is a bigger town than Mayenne and also is on the Mayenne river and has a Chateau. The train station at Laval takes you to Paris by TGV in 2 hours. Nearby there is Go Karting. Laval is a 40 min drive. 20 mins south of Laval is the medieval town of Sainte Suzanne which has a city wall and cobbled streets and fantastic views of the Mayenne countryside from the ramparts. Just south of Sainte Suzanne are the caves at Saulges. The town of Angers and the Loire Valley is a 2 hour drive and you can go wine tasting . Le Mans is 40 min drive and famous for the 24 hour car race.

Le Ham

Le Ham has a cafe and a Church and an annual fete in August. There is a fishing lake and fishing tickets can be bought from the Bar / Cafe in Le Ham. The nearest Boulangerie is in Le Ribay a five minute drive away for lovely croissants for breakfast. A ten minute drive is the nearest town of Villaines La Juhel which is a lovely town with many individual shops, Boulangeries, Cafes, restaurants, a Super U supermarket, swimming pool, Hospital and a Vets. There is a weekly market. The nearest beach is at Sille Le Guillaume on the edge of a lake where there are many activities, kayaking, childrens play area, cafe, walks around the lake and in the woods. The area of Les Alpes Mancelles has some pretty villages and St Ceneri le Gerei is particularly lovely. You can go Kayakking along the Sarthe river from St Leonard des Bois, which is a fantastic day out.

The nearest Chateau is at Lassay Les Chateau, a ten minute drive, where there is a lovely 16th Century Chateau in a pretty village with Cafes and plenty of charm. A 20 minute drive take you to Ambrieres Les Vallees where you can also go kayakking along the river. There is an outdoor pool and a cafe and picnic area, and horseriding. A 30 minute drive is the Victorian Spa town of Bagnoles de L'Orne, on the Orne river. The town is very picturesque set beside a lake where there are many activities, such as pedaloes, minigolf, climbing high ropes in the trees in the woods, so it is a great family day out. There are many restaurants and Cafes here many are open 7 days.
