There are also two bathrooms on the first floor - one with bath, separate double shower, basin and WC and one with bath, basin and WC. The ground floor living accommodation comprises a fitted kitchen, sitting room with dining area and woodburner, and a snug with double sofa bed. Outside there is off road parking for three cars and a patio with garden furniture, with a gas BBQ available by arrangement with the owners. With the pub just next door, serving food, good walks in the countryside available close by and Cardiff only seven miles away, Derwen Fawr makes a great base for a holiday in this part of South Wales.

The small, rural village of Michaelston-y-Fedw is located on the border of Cardiff City with a church and a pub serving food. Lovely scenic countryside surrounds the village, ideal for walks, cycling and fishing at the village trout farm. Cardiff is close by, home to a variety of pubs, bars and restaurants, great shopping, museums and a castle. The city also hosts many concerts and rugby and football matches.
